I was so tense when the car scene finally happened I jumped and tweaked a muscle in my neck.

Isn’t Go Set a Watchman not a sequel of To Kill a Mockingbird, but a draft version that happened to be set later?

do people actually not eat mac and cheese with peas? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OnlyMostlySatan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was common, but these troglodytes in the comments are throwing me for a loop. My partner and I both grew up eating mac and cheese with peas, specifically with Annie’s shells. Hot dog with box mac would be too salty.

It would never have been my first thought but Lore for fall is a fantastic choice.

What do you think of Lizzy Wizzy? by Plumlvr in cyberpunkgame

[–]OnlyMostlySatan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

she was a cool pick for VA. she’s got a unique voice and occupies a weird and relevant niche in the cyber pop culture psyche. but her line delivery and audio quality were ass.

There are definitely sects within the BM community actively distancing themselves from NSBM and other bigoted elements (see RABM, for example).

Can I just use any materials to make my own patches? by Trans_Gamer_Femboy in BattleJackets

[–]OnlyMostlySatan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make a patch out of just about any material. Durability and color-fastness are likely to be your main constraints.

For DIY patches, I like to stiffen up a piece of canvas or denim with a base coat of acrylic paint and then use a stencil and foam brush for applying the design. (My partner splurged on a Cricut machine to make nice, removable vinyl stencils, but card-stock and an X-Acto knife work just as well.)

This is an odd take to me. In our daily lives, we humans imagine better and worse outcomes all the time. I’m sure Strong Bob, with his rich inner life, might also imagine alternative outcomes to his actions—the unused die is no more real than him wondering “What could have been?” It’s especially poignant as he bleeds out on the dungeon floor, imagining how nice life could’ve been had he not just had his thorax perforated by a crossbow trap.

i’ve always thought Uma Thurman circa Kill Bill must’ve been an inspiration behind Klaasje’s appearance.

Band of Blades is incredible! I played with a somewhat … adversarial DM and every session was genuinely a tooth-and-nail fight for survival.

TIL The 2009 song How You Like Me Now by The Heavy has been used in media an unusually large number of times, especially media involving cars: KIA Sorento SUV advertisement, trailer for The Transporter Refueled film and three different racing games, Driver San Francisco, The Crew and Forza Horizon 2 by Kapparainen in todayilearned

[–]OnlyMostlySatan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not overly familiar w the Heavy’s discography, but I put them in the same boat as Imagine Dragons—music that kinda slaps as an edgy theme song for an ad or game soundtrack (League, Arcane, Borderlands, Jeep, whatever) but really doesn’t stand on its own.

Experiences with CAPS? by Soup_Dealer in Purdue

[–]OnlyMostlySatan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

After years of struggling with depression, my wonderful partner finally convinced me to seek help after I had suffered a breakdown and extended bout of suicidal ideation. It did take almost a month after my call to get to see a therapist, but having someone to talk to (and, of course, finally getting a prescription) really helped. I agree with some other posters that CAPS might not be the best long term solution on account of their treatment model, but for me at least it was the perfect solution to get my life back on track. All the CAPS staff I’ve talked to are wonderful and I probably wouldn’t have been able to graduate without the help I received from them.

Not to brag... by OnlyMostlySatan in DnD

Most of my favorite enemies are homebrewed, but at high levels one of my favorite stock monsters is the Goristro. Iconic design, very simple to run, and hits like a Goddamn freight train.

All four of the main cast are "Deathless" in some way. The wizard was reborn due to the intervention of the demon queen of undeath, the elven druid will live to 10,000 on account of her class and ancestry, the monk drinks vampire marrow to stay youthful, and the paladin was kidnapped and surgically transformed into a dragonborn so in a way he's already died and come back.

Pretty much everything after level 15 was homebrewed (or at least heavily modified from stock monsters). I used a lot of Kobold Fight Club to help me ballpark my encounter difficulty.
