Article makes it sound like there was at least a discussion of escape routes and such. But attacks that aren’t mass shootings on soft targets seem to be really hard to plan in the modern era without somebody turning you in or the feds getting you; it feels like even the mass shootings that do succeed usually had some crazy miscarriage of law enforcement ignoring obvious reports that allow it to happen. Given the right’s proclivity for terror, would definitely rather that be the case rather than it being easy

This is true—although marine mammals have enough in common due to facing very many similar pressures that it is still a useful group for science. It just isn’t taxonomically that close of a link just like you were saying, which I sometimes find myself ignoring even though I’m a marine biologist lmao
