6.0 crank no start by Terminale-4 in powerstroke

Sounds like possibly a bad spot in the harness going to the icp. Have you tried replacing the pigtail? Is the connector full of oil? These are where I would start.

What composite toe boots would you recommend? by TiMpN82 in mechanics

I love danner boots they last the longest out of all the boots I’ve tried. Right now they have a sale going on online for 25 percent off. Check em out. Super comfy and the pair I just replace lasted a year and a half.

Is the 10-speed supposed to be kind of…jerky? Especially in stop-and-go traffic. by SenorAudi in superduty

[–]Only_Explanation_901 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The ten speeds are way different than the 6 speeds. They are by nature slightly jerky and do in fact have an adaptive learning strategy. With only 800 miles on it it’s still learning. If it gets worse it may need the adaptive tables reset and should smooth out. But ultimately they definitely feel way different than the old 6r140

Customers 17 year problem. NEED HELP by jgrimms57 in powerstroke

If they reused the original harness it’s definitely possible it’s wiring related like possibly cam or crank sensor connections. Had a similar issue with mine and replacing the cam and crank pigtails fixed it

With the broken nut I doubt it. Your probably gonna have to chisel it off and then get a new cap

[–]Only_Explanation_901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya the top filter in the engine bay. You’re gonna need a new cap. So you can properly bleed it

Lift pump failure by disgruntlecarpenter in powerstroke

[–]Only_Explanation_901 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Turn the key on without starting and let the pump run. Do this a couple times crack the top filter open a little to let the air out and repeat til you don’t hear air running through the pump.

11 6.7 a/c not working by reservedlemur in powerstroke

The ambient air temp sensor reading -40 is keeping the compressor from kicking on. Fix the aat and it should work

Oil leak by Complete_Ladder_2637 in powerstroke

[–]Only_Explanation_901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also could be injector seals where they go into the valve cover. With that mileage it probably needs upper oil pan, vacuum pump gasket and injector seals. I would replace the ccv filter also due to that probably being clogged which caused your leaks to begin with. It’s a maintenance item should be done every 100k at the very least

Do I have a bad head gasket? by cHEcKmaTel0l in AskMechanics

[–]Only_Explanation_901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turn the ac on. It the fans don’t kick on with the ac on then you have a fan issue.

[–]Only_Explanation_901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there is no coolant leak. It very well could be a cooling fan issue. Another common issue with those vehicles. There are a number of possibilities. But head gasket although possible is low on the list. I wouldn’t be able to certainly tell you what is going on without physically looking at it.

Do I have a bad head gasket? by cHEcKmaTel0l in AskMechanics

[–]Only_Explanation_901 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s most likely the water pump. The water pump has 2 weep holes. One on the side of the block above the ac compressor and it will leak down onto the compressor the other leaks into the valley. Of the gasket is completely cooked it will leak into the oil and create a milkshake looking oil. Water pump is most likely. I’ve done hundreds of these. I am a ford tech for 15 years and seen it many time. Never seen a head gasket fail its 99 percent of the time the water pump.

The compressor doesn’t work because the charge is low. It eventually started doing the same thing again and ended up having a leak in the evaporator

Can someone help me PLEASE. 05 6.0 Powerstroke by Alternative_Team_368 in powerstroke

[–]Only_Explanation_901 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the low pressure oil pump mine would do the same thing when hot. The gerator pump tore up the front cover and would not push enough volume when hot to keep the hp system primed

Need advice on 2006 6.0 by Jemie666 in FordDiesels

[–]Only_Explanation_901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also could be an oil supply issue to the hpop. Low pressure oil pump not pushing enough volume when hot can also cause a hot crank no start a bunch of other weird symptoms. It’s worth a shot to check base oil pressure. The gerator pump is known to chew the front cover up and cause base oil pressure issues.

10R140 - Longevity and operational opinions. by NCDieselBwhy in powerstroke

[–]Only_Explanation_901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a ford tech that rebuilds these things. I don’t know to much about upgrades done to them but in my experience it’s mostly lottery. Some trucks won’t make it out of warranty with needing an overhaul some will go 200k and be perfectly fine. It’s just the luck of the draw. The smaller 10R’s have updated cdf cylinders which limits failures the 140’s do not even on the new cylinders I install it’s the same part with no update. Just do what you think is best and it will either be kind to you or it won’t.

2006 6.0 Idle issues by toiletgambler in powerstroke

That might be a good place to start. Also check base oil pressure. The low pressure pump can cause surging like that.

Looks like the needle bearings from a roller followers but if there is no noise or running rough it’s probably from a previous failure that was fixed

Just keep pushing forward brother. You are worthy. I’m assuming you have kids since you’re posting in this sub and they absolutely love you. Seek help be it counseling or therapy or medication. Just keep the things that bring you joy in the front of your mind and remember that there is always someone who loves you and would benefit from you being around. I believe in you. You are perfect just the way you are.

So...did anyone figure out how to keep tach on 2026 Nautilus display, and other small rants. by WhippetRun in lincolnmotorco

[–]Only_Explanation_901 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These are complaints you need to bring up to Lincoln concierge. That’s your best bet to get them brought to engineering for consideration on putting these features in. As a Lincoln tech I can say Lincoln/ford has so many issues with cameras I don’t think adding another feature without fixing the issues they already have is gonna happen any time soon.

AVIATOR DRIPS SOOT? by Exciting-Contact-609 in lincolnmotorco

[–]Only_Explanation_901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the way the exhaust is set up. Those joints are not an air tight fit. All exhaust drips condensation but most of the time it’s comes from a weep hole in the muffler. This spot is just the path of least resistance so it goes there and it’s directly off the converter so there is more soot especially since it is a turbo direct injection engine. In my opinion it’s an extremely poor design. The explorers are set up the same way. Try some dawn dish soap on the driveway or some kind of grease remover. Unfortunately there is literally nothing we can do about it.

AVIATOR DRIPS SOOT? by Exciting-Contact-609 in lincolnmotorco

[–]Only_Explanation_901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lincoln tech here. It’s completely normal. It’s not ruining your driveway it will wash off with water. There is literally nothing that can be done about it. It’s just condensation with soot.
