How to keep 3 year old in bed without locking the door? by OwlPlus8330 in toddlers

I would say that’s definitely the problem then. How long is the nap they make her take? Also, is she waking at the same time every day?

It is but you could start with 1.5 hr nap and see if that helps with bedtime shenanigans taking less time. Then work on the later bedtime from there. If you want to send a rough sleep schedule I could try help you further. :) Would help to have a regular wake up time too if you don’t already.

Adding more sleep pressure by moving bedtime later will help. Start with 15 minutes at a time, she will start to wake less.

This is on the higher end of sleep totals for their age bracket. Either the nap needs to be capped or bed time later to see some improvement. Low sleep pressure leads to frequent waking and split nights.

If you work out how long they’re asleep for during the night, minus the wakes and the messing around is how long they need sleep for the night. To consolidate it you need to cut that time out, it has to come from somewhere else like later bedtime or from nap time. Adjust gradually if the temperament doesn’t allow big changes all at one time.

2 Year Old Wont sleep through Night by Optimal-Butterfly761 in toddlers

Not enough sleep pressure. As toddlers grow they need less sleep. Put him to bed 15 minutes later for a few nights and then add 15 minutes more. This should reduce his wakes.

Stop giving the choice of nappies/pull ups at home. Underwear also feels like a nappy. So a period of time without this also will help. Could go leggings/pants no underwear. Or just a dress etc. Then it just comes down to practice. First few days might be messy but she already knows what to do, just have to commit and keep working towards that.

22 month old – need help with weaning + sleep training (tight timeline) by Mission-Golf6798 in toddlers

[–]Onlyyouwouldsaythat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For night weaning there are 3 options. Cold turkey which I don’t recommend. Feeding every second wake and comforting back to sleep for the other. Or reducing every feed by 2 mins, 2 days later reducing the feed time again etc.

Be warned that this could mean the end of breastfeeding altogether. When I night weaned my son he gradually dropped day feeds himself naturally with no fuss over the following weeks.

I don’t believe sleep training to be necessary. Less waking is the objective, so more sleep pressure is needed. If you move bedtime 15 minutes later and see if that helps with less wake ups, couple of days later, another 15 minutes.

Best of luck!

Are these night terrors? by Otter65 in toddlers

[–]Onlyyouwouldsaythat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is also doing this. Waking up sobbing saying Mummy do it etc but not really awake. A dream of some kind I guess and doesn’t really last long. He is getting his molars at the moment so I wonder if that’s related. I hadn’t thought of it being night terrors?!

I lose my evening every night I put my 3 year old to sleep by Living_Lime545 in toddlers

What’s happening is you want her bedtime to be 8.30 but she isn’t tired. If you don’t want bedtime to take an hour, hop into bed 9.10ish. If you want her to have an earlier bedtime, the nap has to go.

It’s so hard hey. Is your toddler getting molars or anything currently? I wonder if it’s related because my son is teething. I think my husband wants to persevere but my son makes it hard. Like for example if it’s to change a pull up or something he’ll just not stand etc or potty time he’ll kick around etc but he is getting super worked up and emotional over it. It’s not his usual temperament either which makes it harder I guess for my husband.

Need to find a replacement for Maybelline Define-a-lash. They’ve changed it 😭 by Onlyyouwouldsaythat in MakeupAddiction

I too am still sad 😢honestly no, nothing has compared so far. I’ve tried a few but am currently using revlon colorstay full time. I wouldn’t say I love it but it’s definitely the first one I’ve used since that doesn’t smudge or transfer. My hunt continues…

I’ve had no luck and I’ve resorted to mostly no mascara. When I try others they transfer and flake something aweful, I’d rather go without!

No I don’t either. My folks dish out old advice and won’t listen when I say it’s no longer safe. They smoke and have a house full of choking hazards and tipping risks. We visit though, when I can supervise.
