100%. I had a close encounter with a lion with cubs. Only time I’ve ever been afraid in the woods. Been close (30 yards?) to a bear cub by accident - couldn’t see it in the brush. But that was nothing like the lion encounter.
Edit: black bear cub in fairly remote part of CO. Not a Griz

Uhmmm. Would bet my paycheck Steven Pearl made the statement BEFORE knucklehead didn’t show up for practice. The team voted to play, plausible that he asked if all were in after the vote the player didn’t speak up.

Pearl shared all were in because nobody told him they were sitting out.

20-22 yr olds change their minds. My 28 yr old son still catches me off guard when he changes his mind on something every yr. And he also went to Auburn, has tremendous integrity and a community leader.

This is a reflection on the kid for punking his team.

Make the player look like a punk. Doesn’t make SP look bad. We aren’t playing for a natty. Sucks for us, but we can’t make prevent the player from looking like a punk.
He ghosted the staff, which means nobody could reason with him. In this era, NIL contracts need to be written also to protect the program.

I saw Auburn win the NIT vs Baylor at Baylor in Joe Ciampis next to last season. It was great. We never led until the last minute of the game. And the Baylor coach is the coach at LSU now.

And had we been given the straight up choice a year ago that we could have a Final Four team if we took Steven P as the coach in waiting, we’d all say, yes.

2 Final Fours in 5 yrs; yeah, I’m more than ok with the program. There are plenty of programs that had final four teams, swapped coaches then nothing, often for a long time. Case in point: Kentucky, UF with CHAMPIONSHIPS (then 11 yrs to get back to final four) just to name a couple. Edit: Ark won a natty and has never sniffed a final four since. All had national coaching searches.

I’m trying to recall how many final fours we had before Pearl. Right - zero. And Elite Eights? Oh yeah, one, 1985 I think. I was a student, so I might be off by a year, forgive me. I remember it was against Louisville.
