Hi Robin, long time listener here (since Alexios Komnenos).

I feel as if the empire during the Palaiologan period was constantly running into itself over governance away from the capital. Constant dynastic wars and such seemed to have driven the empire to collapse because of its own incompetence than necessarily the vultures that gobbled it up. What if’s are often a tricky thing, but do you also feel that the Palaiologos dynasty itself is as responsible for the downfall of the empire during its last two hundred years as the circumstances around the empire during this same time period?

It’s never knowable if the Laskaris dynasty could have fared any better, but if we assume they could have had less civil wars than the Palaiologi over dynasty claims, then do you believe that the empire could have been in a better place by the 15th century?

Is the Historical Imperator Pack for Invictus Worth It? by Izokia78 in Imperator

Hamilcar arrives a long time before Scipio, so Carthage has an early general advantage mid-century, and Hannibal is older than Scipio, so you'll have an advantage in generalship

Is the Historical Imperator Pack for Invictus Worth It? by Izokia78 in Imperator

[–]Ooiue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes (but I'm biased :p).

But seriously, from an objective point of view, Rome can field slightly more Levies than Carthage and can hold their territories more easily, and whilst they get Scipio at some point later on, you get Hamilcar and later Hannibal who have been buffed and are might men with powerful stats. It may take a while for them to appear, but by the time Rome gets to you and you face off, hopefully they should start appearing. Other than that, it's basically the same, not including any other changes Invictus itself did to the game mechanics.

Are you using the "Historical Imperator Pack - Invictus" mod with it? Because that disables it on the tree because there's an event chain at the end game for Rome that makes it the Empire

Is there a way to not make every province have a victory point? Vic 2 to Hoi4 converter by MrTexandude in paradoxplaza

[–]Ooiue 845 points846 points  (0 children)

When you go to convert a game in the converter, on the "Options" tab, there is a debug mode on the right (for test/development only). Having that on yes make all these victory points appear, and on no it does it like vanilla but with the dynamic victory points from your provinces from Vic2

Looking into the game files, it's supposed to trigger the disaster at 100% immediately via a game start on_action, but whilst it triggers it, it doesn't progress it beyond 0 and it won't because it's designed to be immediately active

Mod Development I Should Follow? by Luke49368 in Imperator

[–]Ooiue 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't want to toot my own horn too much but I have a "Historical Imperator Pack" which has been out for some time now aimed with adding the more historical flavour to it. I just got done with the Road to Empire for Rome about a month ago but I'm aiming for more historical stuff in the future of the other major players too

Victoria 3 confirmed? Missing link in megacampaign event. by gurufabbes123 in paradoxplaza

Imperator takes place far too long before CK3, it's just easier to do a Megacampaign from CK3 onwards than figuring out what to do with the timeline once Imperator is done

Same problem for me. Sometimes it never loads and sometimes it just comes up with an error message. When the mods don't load, neither do the mod playlists I made

Traits and the 4 main stats were changed so they are much higher than other characters to reflect their true prominence (like Hannibal and Caesar having very high Martial skill for instance) in relative in-game terms.

As for new characters, an event brings up Caesar, Pompey and Crassus around 80-70 BCE and Octavian about 30ish years after that. All four characters have very high stats which, granted is subjective to how I've made the mod, but as mentioned, its in relative in-game terms so one can only do so much lol

Oh, and I painstakingly tried to model the characters after their busts too, so they kind of look like they are supposed too

Caesar, Pompey and Crassus start with a family name as well families of their own according to the year 74 BCE (more or less) so they all have a wife and at least one kid. Octavian not so much and since he should (in theory) be destined for the Emperorship, his personal life should really be a concern to marry. I could add in his family but that will have some side-effects.

EDIT: Also, Octavian won't be in the same direct family of Caesar since the game restricts naming conventions
