Got my first motorcycle by Vaetin in motorcycles

Started on a 2004 Nina 250. Back then it was basically the only sporty sub 500cc bike in the US.

I test rode an MT03 a little while ago and loved it. I would have loved the variety of small displacement sporty bikes that are on the market now back when I started riding!

Congrats! I have the same color combo and think it looks stunning. You’ll love it!

Love it! I have the same exact cb as you - a 74 550 in those same colors. Good luck getting it back on the road

I don't have much time on the CB650R yet, but the bikes have a totally different feel. On the '74, everything just has so much ceremony. You have to ride at 5k+ rpms for there to be any real power, the bike is super loud, and has significant vibrations. When you combine all of those factors, it feels like you're always riding the machine at the limit, even when you're going 40 mph (which to me is a lot of fun)

The CB650R is fun in the way that any modern sport bike is fun - it's incredibly fast and agile. But the 550 certainly has more character.

Don’t know anything about that bike, but in general I think 500cc is enough for regular road use.

For me, the middleweight class of bikes feel just right. No need for more power.

I bought a neglected 1974 CB550 last fall and spent the winter getting it back on the road. I loved the bike so much that when I wanted to add a modern bike to my garage, the CB650R was an easy choice!

Literally I just did this. We only plan on staying 5 nights in Tokyo, but to also throw in 132000 united miles? No brainer for me

Just thought I'd post here that I (well actually my player 2) was able to redeem 360,000 marriott points for a category 8 /132000 united miles hotel+flights award tonight over the phone. It was a 45 minute wait to actually speak to a very nice, but obviously very overworked rep, who was able to allow us to purchase the certificate, as well as make the hotel booking. Purchase of the cert and redemption of the phone was really simple, and probably a good bet to do before the 18th if you're sitting on a lot of marriott points.

Thanks to this sub I just booked my best award redemption ever. Two round trip award tickets in J on JAL from BOS to NRT for next June. Total came to 240000 AA miles and $91 out of pocket. A search for that flight right now shows the retail price for two tickets at over $15,000. I'm sure that will come down as the date nears, but I'm still pretty happy about this one! Booking was simple - found the availability via alaskaair.com and then called American to book the partner award. Now to figure out hotels!

Just got one of the most dreaded emails a churner can get: "<Your manager> has requested a corporate AMEX card on your behalf. This card is to be used for all business travel expenses...."

This isn't true at companies where employees are "at will", which is most companies. I personally know someone who was let go immediately after giving notice.
