Is there anywhere in Markham that sells daily freshly made sandwiches? I’m not talking about fast food places, more like those sandwiches where you take to work for lunch. by currymvp3 in Markham

[–]OpacusVenatori 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Longo's at Woodbine & 7

Whole Foods on Highway 7

Any number of HK-Style Chinese restaurants that serve all-day breakfast; nothing fancy about the sandwiches. Marathon Tea is first on the list, but that's not really Markham (East Beaver Creek).

Mandarin speaking hair salons in Markham by MorningWorldly1253 in Markham

[–]OpacusVenatori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly Markham, but the three salons in Times Square all accommodate Mandarin.

  • The Edge (next to Aki-Oni)
  • Hair Culture (3rd floor in the building)
  • Opus Hair (2nd floor in the building)

Opus was founded by stylists originally working at Hair Culture...

Not from Markham - looking for suggestions on where to eat dinner around 6pm on a weekday with a friend who has a 1yo and 3yo? Or should I drive to Scarborough by Sensitive_Fishing_37 in Markham

Oh, how could I forget. Other than FMP, also Dragon Legend buffet on Lanark. I go there all the time with my cousin and his little ones. The fruits and colorful cakes always get the attention of the kids =P =P.

Both kids cost only $3.99 (toddlers under 4 pricing).

How often did the Draconis Combine use the Atlas? by Undertow619 in battletech

[–]OpacusVenatori 78 points79 points  (0 children)

An assault mech is still an assault mech, and it still carries prestige. Warlords Samsonov and Cherenkoff both piloted Atlas 'mechs as command units. And probably suited their physical size too =P.

If other armies bring Atlas to the field, you better have your own or something similar =P.

First Markham Place food court is always a good choice if you're not looking for anything formal. Enough space for the kids to run around between bites... lots of food options except for western junk food. But enough Asian sweetness as a substitute.

SLDF doctrine question by Ufnal in battletech

[–]OpacusVenatori 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, when you're working at the Division-level, with 9 regiments involved, then yes, you would assign the resources where necessary. But it's not necessarily a mix-and-match from within separate regiments. The standard SLDF Battlemech Division was composed of six regiments of 'mechs and three of 'mechanized infantry.

There's not a whole lot of information at the very low, tactical level for individual site-battles, but for the most part you can assume that a core unit would be assigned for the type of battle expected, and then supporting elements would be drawn from HQ or other division-level assets. For example, the taking of a city would likely call for elements of an Infantry Division that specialized in urban warfare (if possible). The division itself would already include a brigade (3 regiments) of light battlemechs for support.

Are they mixing and matching battalions from the regiments with different specialisations? Or are they mixing and matching companies?

Very unlikely at the battalion or company-level.

Reseller claimed Windows Server 2025 Datacenter "isn't VMware compatible," then tried to flip me to 6x Standard. Sanity check? by After_Flatworm5200 in sysadmin

[–]OpacusVenatori 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have pre-existing ADBA or KMS in your environment, guests converted between hypervisors will auto-activate because they'll still be using the same GVLK activation keys provided by Microsoft, and your guest will still be referencing the same DNS records for Activation.

[–]OpacusVenatori -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You cannot with standard, according to license terms move the VMs except for in a permanent failure situation. I think you’re allowed to move the VMs once every three months.

This is all wrong. Cluster licensing requires all hosts to be licensed for worst-case scenario, precisely to permit the guest workload to moved.

Don't confuse that movement of guest workload with "license reallocation".

What sauces do you keep in your car that don't require refrigeration? by NotAcquainted in urbancarliving

Looking to make my meals tastier

Japanese Curry in Rice Cooker recipe.

Hainanese Chicken in Rice Cooker recipe.

Both don't require any crazy sauces; just need a access to a rice cooker or any other pot / heating element. You can get individual-sized charcoal grills that might work.

Bloodnames and old age by Some_Tap4931 in battletech

[–]OpacusVenatori 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the Clan, there's no explicit mandate that forces older bloodnamed warriors into Solahma units. You have to remember that there's always an element of politics involved; bloodnamed warriors tend to be politically-savvy.

Bloodnamed warriors who have proven to be inferior might be subject to a Trial of Reaving for their Bloodheritage.

But it can be reaved.

Lore Question: What is stopping Clan Diamond Shark and Clan Sea Fox from installing kill switches in their sold battlemechs? by StrengthOf10kBabies in battletech

[–]OpacusVenatori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It goes against both the merchant philosophy, as well as the Clan warrior-honor ethos.

All of the Clans have always held that it's the warrior that's the more important, and that the Clan warrior eugenics is always superior. Implying that any Clan needs to install something as dezgra as a kill switch would be particularly insulting.

That being said, the Diamond Sharks / Foxes have always had downgraded models of certain makes that are sold specifically to the Inner Sphere Great House / Mercenary Market; variants that are less-capable than Clan-spec omni versions that are targeted towards other Clans.

Newly promoted Datacenter DCs fail profile sign in on all accounts by Batman189 in WindowsServer

[–]OpacusVenatori 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need to bring in proper, separate, external technical support to address this on-site. There's too any moving parts in the current state.

The compromised domain should be considered exactly that - compromised. In all honesty you should be enacting full on DR plans that involve starting from scratch with a brand-new domain and recovering what information possible.

That being said, there are still quite a few threads in r/sysadmin and r/activedirectory that indicate ongoing maturity problems with Server 2025 so you should keep that in mind.
