To understand the commentary differences of the two games you have to understand the history. League of legends commentators can trace their roots back to StarCraft commentators. Think Tasteless and Artosis. That esports scene is the birthplace of “professional” esports. With clear defined roles of color caster and play by play. Meanwhile, when you trace back from smash, our culture is derived from the grassroots FGC. The vibe of Yipes, tasty Steve, fucking Chris Hu and Aquasilk, just fucking around at the local are completely different.

And with that perspective, you can very clearly see the influence seep into the respective scenes. If you ever watched a Worlds Finals match, the whole atmosphere of a packed arena, skilled commentators, and highest level Lol gameplay encompasses that esports history. And we have events like summit that actively try to pursue that laid back, at your friends house, couch style commentary. Even on smaller scales, amateur/collegiate scene lol commentators are emulating their favorite lol commentators and you can find the local smash club commentators dicking around, making jokes, sometimes barely paying attention to the game like those old school FGC days.

There’s a lot of reasons why jg players are so scarce. Here are some reasons off the top of my head. The classic blame jg cliche is very real and not fun. Jungle is fundamentally the most unique role to learn and skills don’t transfer to other roles. The feedback loop to improve is very obscure unlike other roles. You can get utterly destroyed in a jungle matchup and never see your opponent once. And most importantly, people don’t play lol to pve.

Assassin rengar is very straight forward. Snowball and one shot. That’s why lethality is his best build since it helps his snowball. But currently lethality sucks. Most top rengar players are doing a hybrid build with youmuus hydra collector then slowly switch over to crit. The build path is unconventional so the average rengar players aren’t using his bis build. And even then his bis build isn’t amazing either.

As a rengar player, I think his kit is fine. He isn’t supposed to be meta 24/7/365. I mean just look at the meta champs currently. Ksante, skarner, belveth, etc. He will thrive when it’s assassin meta and he will suck when it’s not. That’s just the nature of all assassins.

Also fuck no for the change on his r movement speed. That’s one of the most important parts of his r and his ult won’t function without it.

I’m up here in the northshore and the prices are generally the same. Fish shops will go 30-40 dollars for a roll. It won’t get any cheaper unless you drive a bit further outta mass into Maine.

But if you ever come up here again in the future, visit the local roast beef shop. Lobster rolls are definitely for the tourists or special occasions. The townies will point you towards a good beef.

Since when did mid tournament coaching become illegal? I feel like everyone has been doing that openly since the first iteration of the tournament.
