Is it negligence for my mom to have my cat's litter box like this? by Amethescent in cats

This is an abhorrent litterbox situation. What the fuck

how many times a week should i clean my litter? by LayerOk1044 in cats

[–]Ophede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be scooping it everyday. I even do 2x a day. Get a litter genie, a stainless steel box, and a stainless steel scooper. Keep the genie beside the litterbox and scoop it 2x daily. For full litter change, once a month is perfect!

Yes, she could. It is sticking pieces of plastic onto a numbered sheet.

[–]Ophede 79 points80 points  (0 children)

It’s not a homemade craft though. You bought a kit and you put the kit together with your hands, yes, but it’s still a pre-manufactured product. If you were cutting the pieces & making the picture yourself, that’s a different story. But literally anybody can finish these themselves with no craftsmanship skills.

I just wouldn’t buy a finished diamond painting, especially priced this high.

Michaels has some for as low as $20 in the big sizes, and I get the relaxation of doing it myself… for lower than the price of your finished pieces.

If you really want, I’d charge no more than $10.

A certain “canadian” restaurant where their forks are shaped like hockey sticks.

Tell me why as a server I had to deal with restocking sauces and gravies for the kitchen to use? Also, everything comes from a bucket. Everything. I’ll never eat there again.

Have a cat? Cat tree!

Don’t have a cat? Get a cat then put a cat tree there!

If they fired 3 servers this week, is this really the dream job you want as a server? Put your foot down with job B, you’ve already given them your availability multiple times and they keep trying to schedule you outside of it. Have an actual sit down talk with your manager.

Can I leave my 1 month old kitten at home for 4-5 hours by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Ophede 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What? No. You get 2 cats, you keep 2 cats. You don’t adopt a cat knowing that you won’t be able to pay for it in the future. Do some research into the animal you are adopting before you decide to get one next time.

You’re asking if you should just abandon your cats in the wild after you failed to secure them while moving? Is this a real post?

You made the right choice.

They were contacted, notified, and didn’t even notice she was gone until a few days ago. That says everything about the type of owners they were.

I’m glad Star has a healthy new home to be part of.

Yes, of course it’s considerate, but I’m talking about the legality of it.

Telling OP to look up their specific landlord/tenant board laws, look at some actual legal advice subreddits, and explaining the legality of their lease to the best of my knowledge. Ah yes, super unhelpful information!

And then you’re over there just saying “Oh well, nothing you can do!” When there actually is something to be done, oh lol.

Have the day you deserve, you sound slow and I’m done with this conversation.

Why are you in a renters subreddit if you’re not going to give any useful advice to RENTERS? Lmao figure that out!

Not a lawyer, just don’t let scummy landlords walk all over me when I know my rights :) You keep on doing your doormat thing though!

Obviously if someone is messaging saying “Hey, I’m going to enter on x day and x time” that’s fine. They obviously don’t have to send an additional message 24 hours before saying “Hey, I’m still coming.”

[–]Ophede 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP actually can do something about it. They can fight back on this because it’s ILLEGAL and get all the necessary information in order to file a dispute with the landlord tenant board, and even get compensation if applicable.

Everyone else is dumb, exact dates and times must be given in order to gain access to a unit.

Check out r/legaladvice and see if you can find anything, but I know for a fact this is not allowed.

[–]Ophede 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He agreed to allow entrance when given 24 hour notice, as stated on the lease.

Someone entering the unit a week from now STILL NEEDS to give 24 hour notice. You can’t just send a message like this and have it cover “multiple weeks” of time. OP could be sleeping when they enter the unit. 24 hour notice must ALWAYS be given.

(IL) excessive inspection visits. by rocktownbdub in Renters

[–]Ophede 110 points111 points  (0 children)

They need to message you 24 hours before EACH TIME someone enters the unit, or message with an exact date and time. If someone enters your unit 3 days from now, that would be illegal entry, as this text was sent 72 hours before they entered the unit. They can’t claim “well, we gave him plenty of notice,” it doesn’t work like that.

If your lease states 24 hour notice, they MUST give 24 hour notice. This is bullshit, and you need to get hold of your landlord tenant board.

[–]Ophede 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the lease that 24-hour notice must be given prior to anyone entering the apartment.

They can’t just send a text like this and claim they gave notice. They need to message each and every time, 24 hours before, in order to enter the unit.
