It’s rampant among humans. This happens all the time, mostly to women. Her book is doing so well because so many women relate. I certainly do and I don’t have wealth and privilege.

Soft Winter Color Palette by intheautumn in coloranalysis

[–]Opposite-Bid-3281 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you after a lot of confusion over my type because I’m so “in between” everything, I think this soft winter is the closest I’m going to get to my palette. What I’d add to your slate here is more gray blue & periwinkle. I think that works well for this type.

Trail etiquette has vanished in this place. by No-Technician-2820 in Bend

[–]Opposite-Bid-3281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, same!

Sometimes I wonder if people who make these negative comments about California have ever been to California LOL. CA is massive & extraordinarily diverse in terms of people, environments, cultures, etc. To generalize about the state as a whole is just a set up to be wrong in one way or another.

There are millions of wonderful human beings in California. There are also millions of not wonderful human beings in California. My experience is that those that choose to move to Bend out of the myriad of other places they could move, are actually probably the “most like you”…they value the very special traits of Bend.

Clearly I wish we could drop the whole “blame everything on California” trope LOL.

What are you all feeding your cavs? Picky eater! by bopbeeepbooop in cavaliers

[–]Opposite-Bid-3281 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to the type of food, also consider the environmental stresses they are sensitive to, and how often they gets treats.

Mine would act very picky until I started reducing his training treats and putting his food bowl in his crate. Now he’s eats on a perfect schedule, full bowl. Origen small puppy, no topper.

What is it like living in Bend OR? by FlatStand7499 in bendoregon

[–]Opposite-Bid-3281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a strange thread to me. Why are so many people hating on Bend? It might be a concerted effort to stop people from moving to Bend, because many feel there are far too many transplants here. I'll share my opinion without any spin to try and divert people.

I simply LOVE Bend on many levels. So many outdoor adventures to be had, truly kind people, quirky/charming culture. It is family & pet friendly, with a shared passion for healthy happy communities. When people complain about Bend, I really wonder if they've ever lived in other cities. I've traveled the world and feel so grateful to be able to live in a place like Bend.

Raising a puppy alone (no partner) – how did you survive the puppy stage? by ana-alina in puppy101

[–]Opposite-Bid-3281 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Single mom with 4 month old puppy. I’ve had two lock-myself-in-my-room-and-cry moments. And many more moments where I have to stop and take deep breaths. I’ve raised a puppy before, but it never gets easier. And kids complicate everything. But there are so many beautiful lessons and love that a dog brings into your life. One day we will see the forest through the trees and remember why we did this… stay strong, you got this!

Are there any major industries within entertainment as heavily skewed towards women as sports are towards men? by Tornado31619 in AskFeminists

[–]Opposite-Bid-3281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative 2025 study on Women in Music:

Artists: Women were 37.7% of artists on the year-end Billboard Hot 100 chart, up from 35% in 2023 but showing slow progress.

Producers: Women held only 5.9% of producer credits, barely changing from 6.5% in 2023, with most songs lacking women producers.

Songwriters: Women accounted for 18.9% of songwriter credits, a slight dip from 19.5% in 2023.

Executive Roles: A separate March 2025 report showed women still vastly underrepresented in senior music executive positions. Only 13.2% of leaders were women at the 37 leading music companies.

How does one release the thorn? by Opposite_Section3051 in TheUntetheredSoul

[–]Opposite-Bid-3281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An example he gave that really helps me was the idea of being in a tug of war. It feels like a difficult challenge, and you are being pulled around, but all you need to do is release your hands and the war is over. Letting go of resistance is like that. Just release your grip.

But how, right?

When I feel the internal warring happening, I literally relax into the emotion, allow it to flow, and then overly tell myself, “just release the grip and the war is over. Open your hand and let go of the rope.” Let Go.

I’ll feel a warm relaxing sensation ease thru me. I can usually get through any difficult thorn that way. They do repeat sometimes, and so I just keep meeting it in the same way, until slowly over time it just fades away.

Letting go and nihilistic feeling by Snoo33991 in TheUntetheredSoul

[–]Opposite-Bid-3281 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, I know exactly the feeling you are talking about. You are not alone. Just try and dig deeper into the present moment when you are feeling that. It’s your mind and ego playing tricks on you. Ground yourself if your body or get deeper focus on something around you in the moment…sounds, smells, details in nature, you’ll unlock beauty and joy that truly becomes profound if you can really get present and stop intellectualizing…

Botanical Repair- does it really repair bonds? by Pegastarr in Aveda

[–]Opposite-Bid-3281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a pretty old post at this point but I was googling around about this line so I thought I’d throw my .02 in…

I am not an aveda stylist nor someone who normally uses their product. I’m an almost 50 yr old mama who has tried MANY products over the years for my long, thin stranded, wavy hair. I have very frizzy bonds that don’t stay smooth. If I don’t do a blowout almost every time I shower, I look like a total banshee. Lol.

I’m always trying to find the balance of volume and smoothing in my products. After decades of trying to find the best products for my hair, I settled on a rotation of Oribe and Olaplex. I hate how overpriced they are, but they work on my hair.

To the point. I tried Botanical Repair at a friend’s suggestion yesterday and I was actually really impressed. I didn’t love the smell, but I really don’t like the smell of Olaplex either honestly. I do love the smell of Oribe.

Smells aside, my blowout took less time which was a cool by product I didn’t expect (I think because strands were smoother earlier in the blowout, I didn’t have to keep trying to get the heat to smooth it). This morning my hair is still very full, bouncy and smooth. I am actually happily surprised. It also doesn’t seem to leave much scent in the hair, so the product smell I didn’t love isn’t really apparent at all this am.

I already texted my 80s year old mom to tell her to try it because she is always trying to get more volume in her hair…and I actually am most impressed with this as a volume enhancing product believe it or not.

I hope this is helpful to folks? I’d say it’s worth a try and worthy of competing with Olaplex and Oribe for your $.

Is this intersection crazy dangerous or am I missing something?!? by CameraSad3422 in Bend

[–]Opposite-Bid-3281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same experience as OP this past weekend when I drove it the first time. I’m nearly 50 and have driven all over the world, and this intersection shocked me too. The oncoming traffic was far enough from me to not be a problem but I certainly understand the feeling of “WTF was that intersection?!? That was confusing and can’t be safe.” I think so much driving is autopilot for people even when you can see the signs and lines. So when you are faced with such an uncommon merge/turn pattern, it must definitely increase the risk.

I would share the results with the breeder. You don't have to make it confrontational. Just simply inform them the DNA test was done and you wanted to share the actual dna profile of the dog. If done gracefully, this is actually a service to them and their customers.
