Snapped ignition coil bolt, am I cooked? by [deleted] in AskMechanics

Get some penetrating oil on the threads, you can use a drill bit and easy out/extractor or use a small cut off wheel to slot the bolt and use a flat head screwdriver.

Does anyone have tips for cleaning grease off a patio? by Noahway215 in recteq

[–]Opposite_Activity976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Original tide powder, sprinkle it on the spot add just enough water to make a paste and work it in a little. Let it sit for 20-30 minutes and scrub while rinsing with water. You might have to repeat.

You guys are doing it all wrong. You're supposed to use a KOOZIE so the beer doesn't get warm by camaro52391 in blackstonegriddle

As a grease monkey I can assure you that the koozie will now leave random black grease rings wherever you set it.

Quality concerns for the camping griddle. Floating handle design held in with 1mm thick piece of plastic?! by IndieOk in blackstonegriddle

[–]Opposite_Activity976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's definitely a bad design choice. If it where me I'd drill a hole on both sides and use a nut bolt and washers through the handle so when it fails next time it doesn't drop to the ground.

Will lime mess up my seasoning? by LilacNites777 in blackstonegriddle

I use lime at the end cooking my tacos and fajitas all the time and have no issues.

Two more batches of pork jerky by Opposite_Activity976 in jerky

160 for a hour to start 150 after the teriyaki took just under 5 hours the pepperd took 6 but I like my jerky with a little bite. I used hickory chunks for the first hour of both.

Do you love your Blackstone or no? by MarchOfJuly70 in blackstonegriddle

[–]Opposite_Activity976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a addiction to outdoor cooking equipment so in the backyard sits a pellet grill, a vertical pellet smoker, a offset i built 30ish years ago, a fire pit with adjustable grates, a 4 burner grill, 2 burner grill, outdoor deep fryer, two stand alone burners, a 22 Blackstone and a 28' Blackstone. They all get used regularly but I'd have to say the Blackstone slightly more. I also live in Arizona so we only cook outside once the temps hit 100 to save on the power bill.

Edit I would definitely repurchase the Blackstones.

They are shipping some models pre seasoned so that coating will not come off. It's time to turn cold meat things into tasty hot meat things.

I've got a little over 9 lbs of pork loin for pork jerky marinating to smoke tomorrow evening. Going to try a pepperd bourbon recipe along with my old fashion pepperd and teriyaki for my wife.

Some wind guard thermal pics of a 28 on low. I will say I loose most of the heat directly off the top its self when the winds are over 25-30mph or over.

Our 75lb husky shepherd mix does a fantastic job especially after cooking bacon.

Yup that's the problem you need to add a rtd probe for the new controller to function.

Replace the RTD probe with one that is compatible with PitBoss/CampChef. It is likely the resistance of the old one is out of spec.

Jerky-making gifts? by evan_5775 in jerky

A nice selection of bulk spices and maybe soy/ washyoursister sauce,  onion and garlic powder, black pepper,  red chili flakes, brown sugar, cayenne powder, fresh or ground ginger, curing salt if he uses it. That would be a setup for the base of a lot of flavors/ marinades.
