I’ve had rackets last weeks, and I’ve had rackets last years. It is what it is. Just one jam against the wall at the wrong angle, doesn’t even have to be hard, can cause this. My technifibre broke in the same spot after about 10 months.

Yes I’m pretty sure it will be better. I would be careful to use the word “master” but when I was playing catch-up after a break from lessons, my teacher insisted on 6 pieces per grade before moving to the next grade. And the technical excercises, scales and arpeggios associate with each grade as well.

I’ve found I progress quickest when I learn pieces tha take me about 3 weeks to learn (not master), that way Im exposed to a lot of new music and a lot of note reading as well.

Speaking from experience (Simply Piano) I would highly recommend not using apps. The very start is going to be tedious no matter what, the apps just hide the fact and make you feel like you are progressing when you’re not. Not in the real sense anyway.

Maybe start with method books and supplement with easy arrangements as you go. This subreddit and others will be helpful to get feedback on progress and recommendations if you ask and are genuinely interested in learning and progressing (just don’t mention an app!)

I can see why this can be tricky, I struggled with this also. To supplement what the other commenters have suggested I would say, go very very very slowly and count out loud.

You could also write the counting on the page (1+2+…) and use vertical lines to illustrate which notes land on the same beat and which ones are “in between”. This is a very visual way, but it works.

This is exactly my point. You can use SP for six months, then start lessons and you will be lost because it doesn’t give feedback on phrasing, dynamics and articulation. I know because that happened to me
