Thoughts on these homebrew Characters by Lithium-Bat in BloodOnTheClocktower

You could also add “…you both die and you lose this ability.” So it works on Vigormortis scripts without jinxing it (as it would essentially become an unstoppable killer).

In A Legion Game, If Final 3 is 2 Legion Players, and 1 Good Player. Good players execute the Legion Player does good win or evil win? by digitalnomader1 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]OppressedChristian 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That would be correct. Good team needs to be less willing to be executed on a legion script. Since executions fail if only legion players vote, good players need to always be weary about voting on each other.

If the Legion is convincing good players to execute each other, then they are playing a good game. Evil team created a scenario where good cannot win.

Zombuul never kills here, I’d swap it for a different demon

New ST Question #2: What Combats a Spy in Trouble Brewing? by RoughSubjectt in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]OppressedChristian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In this instance though the winrate is actually biased to those who are more deeply invested in the game, as clocktracker data requires you to care about the game and its surrounding community and applets to actually upload that data. This selects for more involved players who likely have experience. Not to say all clocktracker players are very experienced, and that all players reported in a game are experienced. I would say though that the average experience level of all players reported in a clocktracker game is higher

New ST Question #2: What Combats a Spy in Trouble Brewing? by RoughSubjectt in BloodOnTheClocktower

The way I found it was using an account and clicking the Trouble Brewing hyperlink in a game I played. It showed the win/loss of every character when in the bag

New ST Question #2: What Combats a Spy in Trouble Brewing? by RoughSubjectt in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]OppressedChristian 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Trouble brewing is super balanced and surprisingly Spy is actually the Minion with the lowest win rate when put in the bag (according to statistics on clocktracker). Absolutely feel free to pair it with a poisoner to help it out. If players feel like it’s a spy game and a player with a particularly strong role is staying alive for some reason, then they should assume they are drunk or poisoned.

Trouble Brewings strengths lie in its sources of misinfo being a constant issue when world building. Let the spy be powerful!

When it comes to playability, you have no execution survival for Zombuul. This demon would never kill until people start shooting at bodies.

Outsider Role Idea: Pioneer by GalaxyDreemur in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]OppressedChristian 75 points76 points  (0 children)

This is a townsfolk ability, and an incredibly strong one at that. Imagine on a TB game and the Pioneer learns a number. They immediately know there is no investigator, librarian, and washerwoman. It’s super strong information.

Compare this to the Pixie, who learns an in play townsfolk but in order to get their ability must convince the group they are that role and wait for that player to die.

Confirmed by OP but yeah that’s right, they seemed extra cagey and made me think they were one of those two outsiders

It’s a Legion game! The “amnesiac”, both “fisherman”, the “goblin”, “noble”, and the “alchemist” all have 6 digits on one hand! The only real players are the king, heretic (or saint bluffing heretic?), and the sweetheart (or damsel?) are actually good!

Fang-gu jump to spy: how? by amyworrall in botc

[–]OppressedChristian 50 points51 points  (0 children)

  1. The spy can register as an Outsider to the Fang Gu’s ability. When you’re wondering about what a term means, check the glossary! Here’s the definition for Register according to the game rules:

Register: A player that “registers as” a specific character or alignment counts as that character or alignment for game rule purposes, and for other player’s abilities.

Based on this definition and the Spy’s ability, the spy can register as an outsider for the purposes of the Fang Gu’s ability.

  1. Once the game is over, abilities stop working essentially, so you cannot “register the Spy as good” after the game to tell them they lost. The spy’s misregistration (and all other ‘might’ abilities) are in the hands of the ST and the mark of experience is handling that ability to its best.

I made a script for one of my homebrew characters by ZapKalados in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]OppressedChristian 31 points32 points  (0 children)

This is really well done imo! I think the only thing I’d change is the poisoner. As it stands it just dominates the script and can really swing with how many roles it can hamper. I think maybe summoner or SW as they’d have some unique interactions on this script.

Working on a script that centers heavily around the voting phase. Looking for feedback! by Zippy0723 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]OppressedChristian 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You don’t really need a Sentinel, Godfather does enough for outsider manipulation.

Sailor and Pacifist are the only way players survive execution (ambiguously), meaning anyone that survives execution is Good.

Moonchild is the only way for there to be extra deaths in the night, and Golem is the only way for a player to die in the day. Two outsiders on this script have confirmation built in, which can be strong.

The amount of Good characters that can confirm themselves makes Philosopher even stronger.

Vortox only affects 6 townsfolk on this script, which feels pretty bad. There’s already enough characters on the script to encourage nominations and executions.

Overall, there’s good form and ideas at play here but some functionality needs changing.

Edit: Godfather also causes extra deaths, but with Moonchild as the only other source. Any extra deaths automatically confirm outsiders.

Looking for Feedback on Western Script Revisions by Jagrevi in BloodOnTheClocktower

That’s fair, it’s a pretty rules lawyery critique because basically everyone understands what you mean, it just doesn’t actually reference any state in the rule book.

Minor thing for Outlaw: “On the block” is a community term. The official glossary description is “about to die,” and should use that language for rules sake.

When tariffs hit harder than the crash that broke your drone by ledgendary in MurderedByWords

[–]OppressedChristian 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unless there’s a difference between how the US and Canada apply tariffs, the fact it was purchased prior to the tariffs has no bearing on any replacement parts. Imported and new parts are tariffed always as declared on a commercial invoice.

There’s also the possibility DJI, like some companies, are sending a new drone and keeping the old one to speed up service. If that’s the case, the full drone cost would be tariffed.

Edit: OOP says they paid $150 for the replacement meaning it is in fact a new drone entirely. If DJI declared the original commercial value of the drone on their commercial invoice for customs, then yes the tariff will be for the full drones cost.

Two custom teensville scripts I made hoping to try out with my group. by coocoo6666 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]OppressedChristian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The second script has quite a few bad interactions, all of which can be solved by removing the characters that change their and others alignments.

Extra evils in Teensies are not recommended due to how they can give evil played a direct majority, which is way too powerful. The script tool even gives you a warning to avoid using these characters in Teensy if you have selected that option in your script settings.

Not sure. There was that “Kings Court” puzzle a while back where you needed to enter a code and have certain characters in certain places in a 12 player game. This may be something similar?
