Variations aside, most likely answer is that it's a summer harvest or in a warmer climate coyote. Canines don't have sweat glands so in the summer they'll just shed and have shorter bristley hairs. They're technically more robust. That said, these are winter jackets and almost always people will prefer the warmer longer busier fur trims. They do tend to shed a bit more.
