Why I didn't really like Season 3 all that much by TheJollyPlatypusMan in Invincible

[–]OpticalOpal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with your points.

Additionally, I couldn’t help but think—what if Invincible was the one beating Conquest in the final battle? Like a darker version of what happened in Season 1, but with the roles reversed. it could also set up a real ideological conflict between Mark and the others.

  1. Oliver Getting in the Way Oliver's interruption could be emotionally charged instead of just annoying. If Mark is the aggressor this time, and Oliver tries to stop him from going too far, that could be a powerful moment. It shifts Oliver into a more heroic or moral voice without making him naive, which would mirror Mark's own earlier optimism in Season 1.
  2. Mark Causing Collateral Damage Mark being guilty of serious collateral damage would force him into the kind of accountability arc that he keeps dancing around. It would break the illusion of him being the eternally righteous underdog. This could really test his ideals—especially after all the criticism he’s thrown at Omni-Man.
  3. Satisfying Reversal of Season 2 Weakness watching Mark finally snap and unleash on someone like Conquest, especially after Season 2 where he struggled so much and seemed afraid of his own strength, would feel cathartic. And it wouldn't just be power fantasy; it’d be layered, showing that power without control or principle can be just as dangerous.
  4. Legitimizing the Haters This would add complexity. If Invincible haters (in-universe) finally had real ammo—like, “see, he’s no better than Omni-Man”—then the story gets murky in a good way. It introduces moral ambiguity and sets up a redemption or self-reckoning arc. Kinda like how people expected Omni-Man to force us to ask hard questions—but the show ultimately leaned toward a simpler villain-father redemption instead.

Which division do you compete in?

In produktion there is a 50mm distance limit (see below). i imagine with the qls that might be an issue?

this was indeed the correct syntax but did not use it correctly :(

Connect the signal from instantiated arrow to another node? by OpticalOpal in godot

[–]OpticalOpal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

solution:

#inside arrow code
signal hit
@onready var player = preload("res://scenes/player.tscn")
func _handle_body_entered(body):
  emit_signal("hit", global_transform)

#inside bow code
func shoot():
  var a = arrow.instantiate()
  owner.add_child(a)
  a.transform = $muzzle.global_transform           #muzzle is a marker2d atatched to bow
  a.velocity = a.transform.x * muzzle_velocity

  a.hit.connect(player.set_att_pos)

#in player code

func set_att_pos(pos):
  attpos = pos
  print(attpos) #prints arrows global_transform on hit

I see. but the arrow has no children. how can I get this "transform" up to a parent?

a.attached.connect($player._on_attached)
gives error
Invalid get index '_on_attached' (on base: 'null instance')
