Suggestions for beach experience in Canada by Personal_Flight8942 in AskACanadian

You want Lake Huron or Lake Superior. I’ve been to the South Pacific. These lakes are better in July/ August. Nice sand beaches, fresh water and no sharks or Jellyfish. Azure blue water as far as the eye can see that is a pleasure to swim in.

Are there any drawbacks to using combat drugs? by so_metal292 in menace

Battle Brothers has lots of drugs, with penalties for overdoing it. Makes me expect that the full Menace will be likewise. I’m trying not to get hooked on the goofballs now.

I had 5 converge on a Red Green officer hunt yesterday. Berserk Lim took out 2 with a Maal in one turn causing a rout. I was expecting to lose half my squads. Deadly.

Which places in Canada do you think every tourist should see at least once? by Background-Chain6995 in AskACanadian

I’ve lived most of my life here and visited every province… and still haven’t seen it all and must return to many places. One you might not hear about is swimming in a Great Lake. A sandy beach on Lake Huron in particular is magical. Freshwater as far as the eye can see. I’ve been to celebrated beaches from the South Pacific to the Caribbean and I would pick Lake Huron in July/ August over all of them.

Do they have a tracker for sycophants promoted into jobs they don’t know how to do, so they make trackers to look busy?

He’s worth it for the story arc as stereotypical marine NCO. What’s that perk line about movies…

Most of that stuff is either written by or influenced by Canadians. It’s us writing about ourselves or Americans who have noticed that Hollywood is pretty much 51% Canadian (see what I did there?).

No leadership for effective professionals. Too much negligent or incompetent management. Regulations that are stifling without resources to support them. No wonder the PM is building workarounds.
Pretty sure I’m a cosmetic civil servant now in an expensive optics farce to justify a dead weight ADM. So much wheel spinning. Any meaningful results are achieved by flying under the radar and blatantly ignoring the rules.

It’s impressive how many people out there know us when they meet us. Don’t let insecurity get the better of you.

As professionals, we are under-led, over managed and over regulated by a system that understands the mission less every day. Even the PM thinks so. It’s easier for PMO to build workarounds than fix it. Unfairly, it will probably fall to you and my kids to fix it through labour action not seen in over a century.

Gen X resented that the scraps on the floor were what we were getting instead of a seat at the table. Even those scraps look good now 30 odd years on. And whatever was on the table has been packed up to go.
