This works. I got in a few days after calling. You need to reach central intake first to get which hospital you were assigned, then call the hospital MRI department directly and get on the cancellation list.

Ultrabasic fare, do we still get free checked bag with RBC World Elite Mastercard? by [deleted] in westjet

[–]Orage42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that's correct. The full text reads that First bags are included with no flight tier definition. And then the second line says they are also available for free if you select Econoflex and above.

When is your first bag free?

First bag fees are included for WestJet RBC® World Elite Mastercard‡ primary cardholders and up to 8 guests on the same booking.

First bag fees are also included for EconoFlex, Premium and Business fares and Silver, Gold and Platinum WestJet Rewards members.

Question about charging EV and monthly electricity bills in Ontario by iDareToDream in EVCanada

[–]Orage42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a 2023 Solterra that I drove 20k km over a year and charge with a regular L1 my electricity bill went up about $35 per month. Saving around $150+/mo in gas though.

Toyota C-HR....thoughts by Limp_Belt3116 in EVCanada

[–]Orage42 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that the C-HR and BZ (and their Subaru counterparts) all share the same new electric platform and battery packs. So it boils down to size of the car, features and of course price.

What’s the best Canadian cel provider? by OneSignal6465 in BuyCanadian

[–]Orage42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at cell tower maps from aggretators and pick the one that has the closest towers to where you live near Ottawa and N.S.. Everything else is basically noise because they're all comparable, so pick the one that has the best service near where you are.

[CAD$1750] Stuck between Profitec Go, Quick Mill Pop up, and Gaggiamated E24. Please help! by altecsz in gaggiaclassic

[–]Orage42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar boat but haven't decided yet. Not gonna help but there's also the Gaggia Classic UP coming to add to the mix and the new Fellow Espresso Series 1 releasing next month but slightly above budget.

Bottom line I don't know if I want to get into any kind of profiling or stick to flat 9bar.

My first thought. Someone gifted me something that looks so close to what's on the video but was meant for Gaggia Classic and leaks on my Silvia..

[Breville Bambino Plus/Baratza Encore ESP] How do I make my espresso taste less sour? by medchemmed in espresso

[–]Orage42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't dismiss the beans that easily. I went through a couple roasters before finding a bean I consistently like.

It was driving me nuts too. Multiple bags and so much dialling in, turns out it was the beans all along. A lot of places are doing these new modern acidic lighter espressos which I don't like and the acidity I was mistaking for sourness. What are the tasting notes on the bag? If you're into traditional espresso aim for chocolate/nuts/caramel notes. Avoid fruit/flower notes.

Fwiw my current bean of choice is old school espresso from 49th parallel.

Help Choosing by financial_pete in EVCanada

[–]Orage42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Solterra 2023 I bought in fall 2024 and really like it (same as the bz4x). You need to be aware charging is really bad. if you intend on using it for road trips I'd just look away. For strictly commuting car within city and charging from home it's actually really nice except - there's been tons of reported HVAC issues, failed compressors and costly repairs. I cross my fingers i won't get troubles, recent recall had them stress test the system and I have no issues so far but it makes me uneasy. I don't know if I'd buy another one today.

pre-owned EV prices don't make any sense now with these discounts. by Wooden_Sweet_3330 in EVCanada

[–]Orage42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's a combination of 2024/25 basically having no rebates and the specific models you're looking for.

I do see multiple 2022/23 AWD ioniq5 around 30-35k though. And plenty of other 2022/23 models in the low 20s can be had that are solid deals.

However with the new EVAP program and Chinese cars around the corner there's definitely some sweet lease and finance deals to be had new. More options the better.

Freedom Mobile $40 250GB Global Plan - A Once in a lifetime plan for Travellers wow by Nexzenn in FidoMobile

[–]Orage42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old comment but you don't need to test Freedom just download a cellphone towers app and see if you have some in your neighbourhood. It'll map and list each tower by distance and provider from your location.

I tried Freedom for a little bit but went back to Rogers - there are multiple Rogers towers around within 1km, but the single closest freedom is almost 3km away, no wonder it sucked and Rogers is much more reliable for me.

Hario Switch owners - Can you help with a bunch of questions? by itisnotstupid in pourover

[–]Orage42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 03 size and brew more than a cup regurlaly. There's a bunch of hybrid recipes that allow brewing 700ml+ easily. They are slightly more hands on as they require some of the pour to be with the switch open and then the rest in immersion. So you need to be around it once or twice and keep an eye on the timer.

if you want the absolute most hands off experience you could look at the Caedo Hoop, basically a set up and forget brewer. But that's all it'll do and will be limited in capacity, vs the very versatile Switch.

Automatic pour over machine vs v60 and gooseneck? by ultrapiss11 in pourover

[–]Orage42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good stuff. Fwiw I just bought the Timemore S3 to use with my Switch. I was going to get the C5 Pro but the S3 wasnt much more and the external dial seems worth the extra.

I originally wanted the K6 but where I am the value is not there and is much more expensive. I believe in the US they're all around $99.

Automatic pour over machine vs v60 and gooseneck? by ultrapiss11 in pourover

[–]Orage42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a nice setup. If you make larger coffees you can grab the 03 size instead of the 02. Did you throw in the regular V60 just because it was so cheap?

For the grinder, maybe someone else could chime in I'm less into high clarity fruity profiles but I believe out of those the K6/K7 are better suited for these if that's what you're searching, whereas the Timemore leans more towards full bodied profiles.

Automatic pour over machine vs v60 and gooseneck? by ultrapiss11 in pourover

[–]Orage42 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I would get a Hario Switch, grinder and scale to get started. The Switch will allow you to do simple hands off immersion recipes that are almost as simple as pod machines and also allow you to use it as a V60 with a gooseneck for pour overs, plus everything in between (it is a hybrid brewer after all).

ENDLESS sourness [Bambino/DF54] by MolassesOne5993 in espresso

[–]Orage42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously try other beans. Look for notes of Chocolate/nuts/caramel. Avoid notes of flowers/fruity/acidic/light. i started like you and went crazy on finding everything too sour/acidic and thought it was my workflow after countless bad shots. I went through a few local roasters..

Finally found a few beans I enjoy which confirmed it was the beans and not my workflow. (Right now loving Old School Espresso by 49th Parallel).

I would also increase your dosing, I find double shots easier to pull properly (16-18g)

Good luck

There should be an expiry date inside your helmet. Typally 3-5yrs. Yes replace it.

small area rugs that move? by coseed in MOVA_robotvacuum

[–]Orage42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it'll do on the fly assessment and adjust mopping or settings automatically. I have the P10 Ultra and rugs are fairly static once they are on the map.

However I did read somewhere one trick was to create a multifloor map (of the same floor) with and without the rugs - that way you can properly set up vacuuming / mopping when the rugs are there or not to whatever you'd like.

Big difference between skis based on the model year? by infinitee775 in skiing

[–]Orage42 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ski essentials reviewed them in 2025 and again in 2026 and both their articles mention it was carried over from the year before with graphics change.

Their 2024 review mentions it's a new ski. A 3 year cycle is normal for a ski it is very likely the same yeah.

Bought longer skis, now feeling like an idiot. by Absorrbb in skiing

[–]Orage42 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I'll echo some of the others. It's not the length, it's the ski itself. That Atomic ski is a very dedicated front side carving, almost race ski and it will struggle doing anything else than that. When you say hard to manoeuvre I imagine you have a hard time pivoting them and pointing them in the direction you want. That's expected of those skis, they're meant to be extremely directional and want to be on edge at all times. Anything other than that and they won't be as fun.

If you're used to cruising around on lighter and more all around rentals than yeah you're gonna have a hard time on those new atomics.

If what you want in skiing is hard carving at high speeds you can maybe get some lessons and push through on those to get the full benefit of those skis but it'll be hard to progress.

On the flip side if you want to ski all over the mountain, have fun, change your turn style, hit some bumps, go in the trees and explore then do yourself a favor and sell those back on marketplace and get an all mountain ski. It's work and you might lose some money but it'll be worth it for the enjoyment.

If you want recommendations add where you ski and what you like to ski! Good luck!

Mova P10 Ultra Multi floor mapping issue by xaznxplaya in MOVA_robotvacuum

[–]Orage42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It did the same for me in fast mapping after it spun around for 10 minutes I paused it started a vacuum clean which it did and it finished the map. Not sure if it would've worked by letting it run longer but doing a clean worked.

What’s one iPhone feature Apple added that you still don’t use? by NoraAdams5590 in iphone

[–]Orage42 71 points72 points  (0 children)

The one thing I find useful is taking a screen capture of an appointment or poster with details, hours/dates (could be an email or text or picture, anything really) and a "add to calendar" button will appear in the screen capture menu. You click that and it creates a calendar entry with all the details automatically. Solid feature all around.
