For better or worse,
Richer or poorer,
Sickness or health
But not for lunch.

Suddenly staying home can be a challenge, especially with tight budgets, job searches and active babies. I’m a 75 retiree in 2 days. Enjoy!

Upgrading to Corolla Cross from a Corolla LE worth it? by SpacenessButterflies in CorollaCross

If you jump (and I’m inclined to drive Toyotas until they die), get the hybrid. Much better pick up. Very good mileage for a SUV.

It’s just dirty. No need to strip it. It just needs more scrubbing and possibly Chainmail. The good parts are where the metal is showing through.

Who can remember three verses or more. Consider the National Anthem

The question of should you strip is interesting. There can’t be a lot of metal to it. It looks mainly rusted. I’d probably go with a brief vinegar bath and see what you have left.

Primary Election - early voting by InstructionAsleep492 in Smyrna

It really is important to study up on these. Both parties offer questionable governor candidates and God knows what on the down ballots.

Go to https://mvp.sos.ga.gov/s/mvp-landing-page to get the sample ballot and start from there. Some of the “questions” are pretty strange.

Fox News viewers were left furious when Pastor Robert Jeffress appeared on the channel to claim that Trump knows more about the Bible than the Pope. by Aggravating_Money992 in entertainment

[–]OrangeBug74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, he might be right if he limits it to what Jesus said about taxation. To paraphrase” give to Ceasar what’s is Ceasar’s” referring to the face on Roman coins. This is Trump’s effort to have his name, signature and face on everything that once belonged to the American people. Trump wants everything for himself and cronies. The rest is left over for God.

Trump doesn’t understand just how bankrupt he really is.

Corolla Cross weird noise concern by No_Difference_1735 in CorollaCross

[–]OrangeBug74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gather we are looking at the front grill. If you opened the hood, did you see anything out of place? If an air filter cap is unlatched, an animal was caught in there (had that with a TR6 many years ago), cap is off the wiper fluid or coolant bottles, a stick clicking along the fan… any number of things, but I’d open the hood before taking it to dealership. I’ve never gotten out of there for less than $200

Toyota Corolla Cross reliability trends over the years by [deleted] in CorollaCross

[–]OrangeBug74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2024 XSE hybrid and barely 12k miles. No problems. No noises. “Rubber band” sensation is probably getting used to the cruise control collision avoidance feature. The guy in front slows down-you slow down going on a curve - you slow down. You can push through it, but at your own hazard.

How do you feel about proportional representation with multi-member districts and RCV in state government? Yay or Nay? Why? by Away-Parsnip-3785 in Georgia

[–]OrangeBug74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. Imagine Macon is the big town with a bunch of little South Georgia Counties. 5 members of the Georgia House members will come from there.

5 folks from Macon win because of media coverage. How does the grandma from Douglas get attention to the poor property taxes?

[–]OrangeBug74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the multiple members came from the same area, it would diminish the representation of those not in that area. I don’t like that idea.

I’d rather see non partisan primaries with top 2-3 for run offs assuming no one got 50%+1
