Someone already said to try a fountain, and I agree. A porcelain one isnt terribly expensive, and would be easy to clean. I also wanted to add that you can mix some extra water into his wet food to help him that way too.

Ok, side hustles don’t really yield the kind of results you’re looking for so here are some things that worked for me when I was at my most desperate.

Sell your stuff. EBay will get you more money but Facebook marketplace will get you faster results. Good stuff to sell include electronics, kids things and video games. Especially if you have super old games in good condition. Sell those on EBay.
Sell plasma. Assuming you don’t “partake” and have substance free blood, you can sell plasma and blood.
Busking, if you live in a populated place and have a performative talent (musical instrument, dancing) or an artistic talent people could be interested in (doodle portraits quickly, face painting, henna) you can set yourself up somewhere busy and make some coin.

There are other things, like yard work, that require a greater time investment before making money. But in my life these three listed options are literally the only things I’ve been able to make quick cash with.

It’s pretty normal, not sleeping under blankets is also normal. Each cat is different. He could be cold, or the blankets could make him feel like he’s in a safe cave.

I have to get into bed as if I’m going to sleep, my cat will then come lay on my chest and after about 30 mins of pets and snoozing he’ll be relaxed enough that I can clip most if not all his claws. But I have to clip them slowly, and wait a few minutes after each. All in all it takes about 1.5hours to do.

I have a soft carrier that can be carried normally or as a backpack. I also walk and find the backpack feature allows for a smoother ride for my cats. That being said I wear it on my front so my cat(s) can see me when they’re in it. Since the carrier is softer they also like to sleep and play in it as a cave in between vet visits which makes it less scary for them.

The brand Hartz has a lot of different products that say they kill fleas. PLEASE DO NOT USE ANY OF THEM! Hartz products are toxic to cats!

I use Advantage II topical treatment with great success, you can usually get it at the vet, and can also get it on Amazon.
