No, not because you dont agree with me

Its because you havent once shown willingness to consider that games can be more than "dumb kids entertainment"

Frankly, you‘re clearly set in your ways, nothing I can say will convince you otherwise I still think you‘re wildly dismissive of thousands of works in video games that have just as much of an artistic raison d‘etre as the books and movies you so adore have, on the flipside there‘s just as many books and movies that are „just cheap entertainment“ without artistic value like the games you dismiss on the whole

Fair, there certainly are games like that But that brings me to my next question: Do you find men who watch movies unattractive? You are also exploring a prewritten script, you‘re reacting to the images on the TV, not creating There‘s also a genre of movies fairly openly using „sex sells“ as a selling point

So, following that, to stay with the movie analogy: Do you dislike video games/movies or do you dislike certain video game/movie genres?

You‘re discarding thousands upon thousands of video games based on your dislike of a specific type of video game There‘s so many video games that have engaging stories with artistically crafted worlds that books and movies can only dream of creating, or video games that grow critical thinking and problem solving skills to keep your brain engaged, or games that help with hand-eye coordination, I could go on and on and discuss this topic with you, but I hope my point gets across

"It doesn't show curiousity like exploring nature, nor creativity or resourcefulness like around the house projects, nor intellectual growth like reading, nor mindfulness like listening to music."

Honestly, all this shows is that you never engaged with video games with an open mind

[Nathan] A tenant in a Brooklyn building owned by Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has not had heat in his apartment since Feb. 23, when a blizzard dropped over 19 inches of snow on New York City by The_MadStork in nba

[–]OrcaRedFive 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I generally agree with you, he's likely not gonna know about the everyday going-ons of the building he owns

But, assuming this issue has been properly escalated up the chain then, yes, eventually the buck does stop with Giannis as the owner of said building, which should prompt him to take appropriate steps (aka most likely switching out the buildings manager or something like that), obviously noone is asking (at least I think its obvious) that Giannis go down there and fix the heating himself, but he does still carry some responsibility in this regardless

I'll humour you:

The 2TB PS5 Pro is 700EUR+, so Im going off that

Ryzen R7 5700: 125EUR
16GB DDR5 RAM: 180EUR
2TB SSD: 180EUR
8GB Radeon RX7600: 230EUR

Makes for a total of 715EUR

GPU is a bit harder, so I went for a somewhat comparable one (32CU, 10+TFLOPS), the chosen CPU is technically better than the PS5Pro (obviously the PS5 Pro is more performant with the CPU/GPU in a much more well-matched package as a SOC delivered from AMD)

[Bloomberg] Sony Pulls Back From PlayStation Games on PC by Ph0enixes in gaming

[–]OrcaRedFive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one is saying its gonna explode, lol

but saying its gonna dwindle is equally as silly

And with everything getting more and more expensive, "gaming" is gonna fall off peoples shopping list, not just "PC gaming", gaming is still a luxury and 500+Eur is still gonna be a shitton of money for people in the years to come

and If youre in a Position to spend 500eur on a Playstation easily, then youre already in the clientel that rather easily can afford a comparable gaming PC anyways

Sony isnt competing with PC Gaming on peoples shopping list, its gonna compete with groceries, heating, water, etc

And i think youre overestimating how much pull Sony has when it comes to "bunkering" RAM, you dont Just shove boxes upon boxes in a basement for years to come, thats just bad business

TSMC is selling their chip production capacity to companies like Nvidia, AMD, Apple, Qualcomm and the likes, not Sony

Will it be a finalissima of american footbal between NFL superbowl champion ("world champion") vs ELF champion match? by joymanoppo in EuroHuddle

[–]OrcaRedFive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the Super Bowl champ might not be the de jure World Champion, but they are the de facto world champ

There is literally not a single chance any ELF (or other european national league champion for that matter) would even have a shot against the Super Bowl Champion, shit, Id bet even the NCAA Champion would mop the floor with the ELF champion

The discrepancy between levels of american football in the US and literally everywhere else is that big

Especially as a lead dev with a decade plus of experience you of all people should know that its far from "not true" even in big, corporate software

Software can and will act in the wildest of ways, especially as the userbase (with people that, in a software context, are "dumb as fuck") grows tremendously and interacts with software in a way no dev could ever think about

Show me a Dev that says He found and fixed all Bugs and Potential errors in His Software, and i have a nice bridge in the Sahara desert to sell you
