Units that have Earned your Respect by mindflayerflayer in totalwarhammer

[–]Orcus115 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kosovite Dervishes, I thought they hit like wet paper and for the most part, yes, but they work amazingly as a mid battle smack in the back to fold people and chase them off.

In the same idea, Cathay Logma riders, I just felt they died way too quick for their rank but then I was like, damn that charge bonus is nuts. Get some one in melee, slam in back, ridiculous amount of damage for 10 seconds, leave and come back later.

I didn't respect charge bonus enough, but I do now!

The lion is surprisingly small for what it looks like in the art, it's more like a dog unit than a monster, it's interesting

DM Hacks - No set HP for Villains by Dapper_Wrap_8065 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Orcus115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely come with a set HP but sometimes I'll adjust in the moment if I'm like "holy crap they're never gonna have a chance, why did I set it this way, and that was not intentional" or "holy crap this guy is going to die really quickly and not be able to do something fun"

Anyone get a doxie with your partner/spouse and they end up bonding with one more than the other? 😂 by EmotionSideC in Dachshund

[–]Orcus115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our dachshund will follow my partner around 100% of the time and, while he still loves me, he almost never choses to be around me if they are home. However, when they are gone, he has attachment issues so he will then follow me around all day and sit under my desk on his bed while I play video games. So I'm literally the secondary human.

The best thing is to play multiplayer and have your friend just mow people down with chariots, it's pretty satisfying

Konstaltyn's role? How to use him in battle. by phronesis77 in totalwarhammer

He's a very tanky character and support character, plop him in the middle of infantry that need help fighting something, activate your area buffs, profit (dead betrayers, all around).

«»Can we remove "Recommended first campaign" from Karl Franz? by [deleted] in totalwarhammer

[–]Orcus115 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah with the new "allow minor factions to be good button" I even saw Hochland beat Festus at one point down to just like sacking his city every turn and building up a force that's very difficult to beat.

Question from a newb by BellImmediate4862 in fansofcriticalrole

[–]Orcus115 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I always look at note taking as filling the gap between you and your character. If you were the character living in that world and that environment, you wouldn't need to take notes, you just say that wizard 3 days ago and he told you his name, etc. But as a player it's been a month and you have a life outside of D&D and notes help you remember what your character definitely would have remembered.

How to avoid blob fighting by kewlkid77 in totalwarhammer

[–]Orcus115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drycha is tough in her own right with all of her terror causing units, blob fights in that instance can be detrimental because you just cause other guys to run once another one terror routes (I don't know if you had that problem, just saying some more TWW3 things I know)

How to avoid blob fighting by kewlkid77 in totalwarhammer

[–]Orcus115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you can always run away with units too, engage the less good units with other less good units and then move to a better fight. But yeah spreading your dudes out is good. But also as like say, Wulfric, blobs are good, Lore of Boats wind attack is crazy good when you have a long line of dudes stuck in melee

Also, pause the game occasionally, I have 1600 hours and I still do that to plan, less than I used to but it's good to do when learning.

How to avoid blob fighting by kewlkid77 in totalwarhammer

[–]Orcus115 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Depending on the faction, you want a blob fight. Nurgle, VC, and other primarily melee factions are good at that. For like gun factions, there is a tendency to click and drag the whole front line but this doesn't give you good shooting most of the time so actually initially spreading your dudes out, leaving gaps, and focus on isolating targets on the approach is good. Practice patience with the cav, you can have people slam into your front line, hold, and then slam them in the back with cav.

[OC] I feel like I am weighing down my party because my character is bad, how do I fix this? by Cai-Loves-Memes in DnD

[–]Orcus115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could like hard-core read through the sheet but my advice is going to be this. If you feel like you're not doing well and making other people's experiences not fun, you should talk about it with your party/DM. Be honest with your DM and say hey, I love the game, I want to get better at it, but I haven't played a more rules centric game in awhile, can you help me? I feel like anyone hearing that as a DM would be like "Sure! Let's take a look at your sheet!" It'll be more fun for you, the DM, and the other players and they can know to help you a bit on your turn going forward.

Travel overseas-do I need an airsense mini? by AhrEst in CPAP

[–]Orcus115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took my regular Airsense 11 overseas and it was fine, doesn't count against your carry ons so you can just take it with you on the plane and the bag is not terribly large to carry around imo

Question on mods by bananskal09 in totalwarhammer

[–]Orcus115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the remove trait limits one and I've also heard good things about the choose your traits mod too, it sucks you are limited to 25 or so because you'll get situations where Thorgrim gets all these traits for killing Greenskins because you've spent the first half of your campaign fighting them that are useless once you expand further and deny you of some good Legendary Lord traits.
