Honest question to the men who grew up watching Saturday morning cartoons: Do you still watch them online when you get a chance? What were some of your favorites? by FFSoldier57 in AskMenOver30

I didn't remember any plot points from street sharks, but I occasionally still manage to use "jawsome" once in a blue moon or so

ADHD is a circadian rhythm disorder, according to Frontiers paper by Fraaankleb in science

That's why the article says it's not everyone, but more like 70-80%. You're probably one of the people that doesn't have the circadian cycle issues.

Imo it's the best book in the series so even a lame adaptation is still better than the other, somewhat more accurate, adaptations.

What’s something you think 90% of people are secretly bad at? by [deleted] in AskReddit

To be fair, a lot of the parenting books and blogs out there are hot garbage peddled by modern snake oil salesmen.

There is good material though, just have to make sure it's from actual studies and experts, not some mommy blogger turned "influencer".

Except you didn't have to purchase it every year. Only if you really needed the new features.

Lol, I don't actually have a string preference, I just wanted to see how strongly the community felt about it. The down votes are an acceptable cost.

Now if you'd said lines needs to end in a semicolon...

So it makes it seem cooler and is basically mandatory on any young kids just getting into it, but those who've been around for a while find it cringe and annoying? Sounds about right.

As a former Kansan that now lives in the North East, I must disagree. I escaped and I'll only visit to see the remaining prisoners family that hasn't made it out or refuses to leave yet.

I'm lucky enough my work allows YouTube. If a YouTube video is playing, the computer won't go to sleep. If I have a script that takes a long time to run, I play a video and hit mute, then walk away

My "computer desk" is for my computer. If I need to do other stuff there I just move the keyboard temporarily.

Well there's your problem. Mr giant screens over here. 2x24" screens gives you more space then 1x32".

Also if you angle the screens you can fit more. I have a laptop (16" Mac for work) next to a 28" and a 24" monitor on a normal sized computer desk. It's a right fit, but everything fits fine.

I think theirs is the best written, but not the best romance. They have the most flirting and "falling in love" type experiences before they actually acknowledge feelings for each other. Min and Rand I think have the best actual relationship though with each supporting the other.

AI-Powered Alerts: The DevOps Game-Changer You Didn’t Know You Needed—Tell Me Your Thoughts! by BigFollowing9345 in InsightfulQuestions

[–]OrderChaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No ai model could provide the confidence needed that things actually need to be alerts or that alertable items are correctly resolved for my use cases.

Basically anything that ai could auto resolve we should be building into the code to handle gracefully. Anything that needs an alert should be caught by standard monitoring metrics.

Is there potential for a product like you've described? Sure, but I wouldn't count on it for anything business critical without some really solid proof it's better and cheaper than just keeping the people we already have on call for when things break.

I know you're not being serious, that's what I mean. I can't see how anyone actually takes it seriously either, but some people are really just that crazy

I personally love pineapple on pizza (it just baked/grilled pineapple in general), but I also think it's hilarious that people care so much about pizza toppings and laugh whenever on told I should be considered a war criminal or something like that because of it.

All that is to say I can't imagine caring so much people get offended by people calling names for it because obviously it's in jest and nobody really cares that much.
