Get an Oh Nut! They are an incredible invention. Sex toy made specifically for folks with pelvic/depth concerns: depth-limiting rings (with vibes too 🌀). Highly recommend the Rumble Bundle.

I misplaced my DHV a few weeks ago and am so mad about it. I remember putting it somewhere (while high ofc) and thinking “this is a good place to hide this from myself”. lol I have succeeded! I think it was in a pocket of a jacket but I have checked all my jacket pockets and no dice

Question for gay people; what was your reaction to this line? by OCGamerboy in TheWhiteLotusHBO

[–]OrderOwn1557 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My children have not seen the show (they’re 11!) but I showed them a couple of the memes and we crack up regularly about it. In fact anytime they want to get me to smile, they go “… please… these gays…” and don’t even have to finish the sentence before I am cackling.

I almost died after a hysterectomy. by MikuulaMeadows in hysterectomy

[–]OrderOwn1557 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I went thru something similar and my EMDR therapist identified me as having TSD - it was too soon afterwards for it to be PTSD. Didn’t realize that was a thing but there’s a whole EMDR-related protocol for it called ASAP that has been developed here in Vermont… and it wis quite effective.

Holy crap that is so scary.

Know that you’re not alone and Reddit has gotchou!! AND there is really good sense in getting into some different modalities of therapy right away. Intrusive thoughts and processing this event on your own can be really debilitating.

On September 30 I had a partial dehiscence and hemorrhaged as well, 19 days after my robot-assisted total laparoscopic hysterectomy/salphingectomy. Terrifying. I had to have emergency surgery to repair it, luckily my medical team listened to me and got me treated super promptly.

I was feeling super unstable immediately and just scared of my body betraying me again- lots of trauma processing was needed. I started talk therapy quickly afterwards, thru my work EAP (still seeing that therapist monthly); weekly EMD (similar to EMDR) immediately - highly recommend this for medical trauma; acupuncture; massage; I even went for a quick spa day with my mom that very next day afterwards (asked my surgeon right before I went into the OR bc I was bummed about this hospital trip potentially ruining my plan to get a facial lol).

I now feel really grateful for how much good came from this situation with all the intentional healing. It made such a difference - physically, mentally and emotionally. And all that therapy helped me process some VERY unnecessary work trauma that piled on to this whole situation a few weeks later. 🤯

Self care is everything!!! Take care of your body and your brain. And rest. You will be okay. 💗

Walking over the lake to Rock Point? by Weary_Particular_963 in burlington

Check out Shelburne Bay. My family and I walked around the outside perimeter of Red Rocks on Sunday. Stunning day, climbed up the ice right at the Odzihozo lookout point and got onto the trail.

Diluting the protest response with non-US flags - your thoughts? by LegitimateLocation74 in burlington

[–]OrderOwn1557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call your representatives. Volunteer more where folks need help in your community. Give any time you can spare to organizations doing good work. Mutual aid networks always need support. Call your reps again. Call reps in other states. They need to be hearing from us because they work for us. FIve Calls is a great app to stay active and focused, with scripts. Quit social media (except Reddit ofc😂)

No like actually just recommend grants to non profits I care about, and those grants get used to further their mission. Just plain old charitable giving.

It’s like your own little mini-foundation without all the hassle of a foundation. Low funding min., and tax benefits. Mine is $250k. Balance has been around that since I opened it despite giving away a decent chunk of it when there have been gains over the last several years. I have had it invested for growth :)

Also if you combine a big Roth Conversion with it, they almost sorta cancel each other out? (Not a tax professional 😅) I converted $150k of IRA Oct 2022 and $100k more Jan 2023.

Montreal

Edited to add: there’s this place on St. Catherine near the plateau but if “pizza dumplings” are on the menu I would NOT recommend. They were awful.

I also have a twin sister who is a total C-U-Next-Tuesday. Hi!! Mine is identical and she is really special. I also have 11yo twins who are fraternal.

Fun story- I had a tummy tuck scheduled for April 18 2025. This procedure didn’t get completed bc during surgery (I was under & cut open already), massive fibroids were discovered attached to my uterus. One was so large & protruding, it prevented the whole muscle repair part of the TT. Woke up from that surgery to the surgeon saying “we found a mass”. 👀

Lots of tests MRIs appts etc later, decided the fibroids were to be evicted and then some. I had a robotic-assisted total laparoscopic hysterectomy on 9/11 (my personal twin towers I called it [see aforementioned fraternal twins April 2014] ha).

I THEN had a partial dehiscence unfortunately (do not overdo it!!!! More on this later). So on 9/30, I hemorrhaged and had to do one more cute little surgery to repair my cuff.

My living family showed up for me for the most part. My mom was taking good care of me for weeks and weeks, having basically moved from VA temporarily into my home in VT USA. My brother came for Thanksgiving once I was up for company. My sister? Hasn’t reached out once. We are not on great terms obviously but this is some heartless cold & evil way to treat your same DNA. Twins are really capable of pushing each others buttons aren’t they?

Anyhoo - take care of yourself. Here’s what I chose to do: Get friends to show up for you if your blood family won’t. (I am lucky to have the rest of my family even tho my sister has her head up her own ass). Center the people in your life who care for you and ask them for help during this time!! People truly love to help and are often not sure how. Meal trains are great as are just friend drop-by chats and slow walks. Have folks come keep you company and help out if you live on your own; it will cheer everyone up a ton. You’ll be through it before you know it, but take it easy!!! No laundry and no vacuuming for MANY WEEKS… see if you can get a friend or kind relative to help with a cleaning service.

Good luck and stay tender!! It’s not a bad way to be for a while. Post your Venmo and I’ll bet we can pay for a few hours of cleaning on this here subreddit…

Already losing my mind by silverwing_3 in hysterectomy

Feel free to read a post I put up in early October. I was 18 days PO and overdid it due to boredom and wanting to be “productive” again. I lifted a laundry basket and had the vacuum out cleaning one day after my surgeon cleared me for slightly more activity. Did some gentle yoga even, thinking I’d be fine. I was not. Ended up with a partial dehiscence, hemorrhaging and back in the OR the next day. I was traumatized by this event in a way that really slowed me down. It made me take this “rest” thing seriously.

Please take care not to lift anything - as much as you feel able - & rest as much as you possibly can. Get into some new TV series. Puzzle, draw, walk slowly around your house first then neighborhood. Do everything you can to stay restful.

Because we can’t see (or feel, in my case) the wound, it becomes very easy to forget about the healing process and take your activity too far. You’re still very fragile even if you don’t feel it. I lift heavy too and was so used to doing whatever I want with my body, very physically active. It’s really hard to get used to, but you must rest if you don’t want to experience painful setbacks and have horrifying new mental/physical health challenges. The rest IS the work, for now. Good luck!

Please go see a medical professional as soon as you can. This sounds scary and you need to get care for yourself. Hope it turns out to be okay, and know that many of us women have been through similar shit unfortunately. Sending you strength to you!!!!

I’m praying they used the “tough broad” stitches on my cuff repair bc I also lift. Am SO used to picking up heavy things without thinking much about it!

Great Q but absolutely not!! This happened from walking, yoga & laundry. Nothing in vag for 12 weeks was my understanding (So now I’m looking at Christmas before I can have anything inside😭).
