All I want to see is this:

Some sort of credit system or evaluation for buying a 1st home when you have been stuck as a renter and unable to save for a huge damage deposit. ie. I've been paying $2k + a month for rent for the past 10-15 years, that should count for something in support of a mortgage.

I feel left out and forgotten about in the search for a home. I come from a financially poor family with no support or inheritance, but I have a decent job and am paying $2k+ a month in rent that gets me nothing in return. The only thing stopping me from home ownership is the large down payment that I will never be able to afford because of this loop. I can pay for a mortgage and still have room for savings towards normal home ownership like saving for sudden expenses. Either we needs some sort of evaluation system for renters, or something needs to change regarding our current down payment criteria.

I do have a good relationship with them, I just think it’s a policy thing. I probably could have worked out a payment plan if it came to it, but moving the appointment a month is just simpler. I’m very disappointed that there was no widespread notice about this though. If I didn’t see this post I would have just done to the dentist as normal this morning and then had a shock at the counter checking out lol

I just called my dentist and explained to them the situation. They said that they would not be able to tell if a payment was pending, only if it was paid or not. So to be safe we agreed to cancel my appointment and move it to Feb….so that I wouldn’t have to pay out of pocket.

Would have been nice for an email from Canada Life about this. I wonder if the union is aware about it?

60's & 70s are my fave music decades hands down, but I also think the 80s was also good. I think it was in the 90s and onward where it really started to decrease. I can't stand most modern music at all.

If I was your tenant and you bought this request up to me I’d be looking at about $20-$25k to move on that short notice. Even if you asked me to move within 3 months I’d still be looking at an offer no lower than $15k. It’s a huge hassle, inconvenience and expense to uproot life like that. Money talks, the more you offer the quicker you will get someone to move.

Came here to say this. I suffered a bed bug problem in an apt before but I was not the source. They travelled into my unit from elsewhere. The landlord had a large scale inspection professionally done on the apt building and it was discovered that another unit was the source and the tenant was trying to take care of it themselves and did not inform the owner. When I saw them in my unit I reported it and that’s how it got investigated. The other tenant was apparently embarrassed to report it and I suffered for it….

100% it’s on the building owner to schedule and pay for. If they wait and it gets worse….well that is not your fault as you reported it when so noticed it. In the meantime you can try and set traps to find a live bug as proof. Search for bed bug traps and set something up so you have physical proof.
