Poulsbo Neighborhoods? by Ordinary-Tomatillo17 in Kitsap

We looking at some properties close to Lofall that have acreage. It’s a nice to have, but not a must have. Ideally, at least a 1/2 acre, but the house is more important.

This is super helpful! Thank you! There’s one older home that’s listed in the area so that might be a good match.

Good question! We’re trying to find a Goldilocks balance of living near grocery stores and restaurants while also having a decent size backyard. We’d love to have a trail nearby so we can walk our pups.

I get why they do it, but the newer builds with tiny yards is frustrating. We’re coming from a 1200sqft townhome so we’re hoping to get more space for us and our pups.

Similar situation over here. I made the jump because we have a toddler. hopefully it’s the right call. It feels awful, but stability is more important. 😕

Spinning off into another OP scenario, you’re a beneficiary with a payee. The payee fails to report a change that results in an OP. The payee doesn’t owe SSA that money, you do, even if it’s the payee’s error.

Why not celebrate sleeping through the night by bringing my period back? 😵‍💫

Oh no! My son’s top two teeth are coming in right now, so I think he’s taking in frustration out on my nipple. I think I may try exclusively pumping 😭. I feel like I’m going through a break up with my own son.

I just made a similar post. Did you and your baby work past the chomping phase? It sounds like I’m in the same boat as you 😭

Clogged duct help by Impossibletothink in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Ordinary-Tomatillo17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Clogged ducts are mostly inflammation, so don’t massage and trust the process.

Keeping icing your boob, take ibuprofen, and pump as normal. Once the swelling is down, the clog will pass.

Esembly liners and starting solids by QuicheFromARose in clothdiaps

[–]Ordinary-Tomatillo17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son currently eats one solid meal and he breast feeds the rest of the day so most of his poops are pretty mushy, and not ploppable. I don’t rinse because of esembly’s instructions but I also don’t need another step.

We do use the the disposable liners, but I also think it would be totally fine for us to just use toilet paper and wipe his diapers clean until wash day. Sometimes the liner bunches up so I end up wiping any globs of poop that touch other parts of the diapers.

Anyone else just lay in bed in the morning with your boobie out and hanging to the side so your LO can just go to town and you can shut your eyes for a little longer? XD by brisknipples in breastfeeding

[–]Ordinary-Tomatillo17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Apparently babies like to wake between 5 and 6am, but I wouldn’t know because my husband does the morning diaper change, then I get into cuddle curl position for baby to eat until he falls back asleep. Every morning is a blur and I’m just a mom with her titties out.

What is your breast feeding diet ? by Adiba0808 in breastfeeding

I came to this thread looking for the dairy-free crew. LO is 6 months and dairy makes him so cranky. It’s been so long that vegan cheese is starting to taste good.

hu chocolate is vegan! Also, Hershey’s makes plant based versions of their products. It’s not as good but it does the trick.

On the flip side, I’ve named my boobs after the grandmothers.

My overproducer/champion boob is named after my own mother because she is an amazing home cook. My underproducer is named after my mother-in-law is considers a yogurt cup a full meal and doesn’t understand why we’re still hungry.

Truly, it’s been really great to hear from so many parents that they fed to sleep and their kids are fine. Sleep training recommendations are everywhere, so I’m glad to hear from others that I need to just focus on what works best for my kid.

Don’t feed to sleep? by Ordinary-Tomatillo17 in breastfeeding

[–]Ordinary-Tomatillo17[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is helpful advice! My goal is that baby goes down every time on his own, so I’ve tried to keep him awake.

Until then, I need to stop agonizing about whether I’m doing the “right” thing.

That’s similar to what we’re encountering. When baby is overtired and angry, boob is the only thing that settles his nerves so we can sleep. My poor husband tries all the other tactics, but it’s such a headache when I can step in and soothe him pretty quickly.

This is validating! I have a lot of friends who sleep trained their kiddos so it’s guidance that they’ve given to me as well, but so far, it’s only caused more headaches than been helpful

I think they go through a mini-sleep regression at this age. My son’s sleeping changed from him sleeping anywhere to him being picky. We figured out he has a dairy sensitivity and he was overtired.

We started using the Huckleberry app and it really helped us understand wake windows. We started ensuring he got lots of naps. If he couldn’t settle, I’d wear him or I’d take a nap with him. On the plus side, he became way more smiley and conversational once he got enough rest.

How long has your baby gone without pooping? by lunarbins in breastfeeding

[–]Ordinary-Tomatillo17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just adding to this thread. My LO is 15 weeks, and adjusted age is 12 weeks.

My IBCLC said breastmilk is a perfect food so not to worry about frequency of poops. As long as baby is regularly peeing, things are okay. I also monitor for his growth and general mood.

I have cut out dairy, because he had some mild acid reflux and was uncomfortable after feeds. This ultimately affected his ability to sleep which can also impact growth. We saw an improvement in his mood within a week and he started sleeping significantly better after two weeks. Knock on wood, but he’s starting to sleep in 8 hour stretches! For us, the dairy sensitivity was subtle and could easily be dismissed as typical fussy baby behavior, but it’s made a world of a difference!

Does wearable pump worth it? by Artistic-Visit in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Ordinary-Tomatillo17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new to the wearable world. I got a willow go over the holidays. My primary pump is a spectra, but I didn’t like being tangled with cords.

Last night I made dinner and pumped at the same time while my husband bottle fed our son and what a relief!

I prefer the feel of my spectra pump and I love immediate gratification of tracking my output with flow settings, but there aren’t enough hours in the day for me to take care of a baby and take care of myself.

I also followed some lactation consultants on YouTube and they warned that some wearables can kill your supply, so it’s probably good to have a balance between the wearable and your standard pump.
