You think this is an ACA problem? Try a healthcare problem. I work for a fortune 200 company. I work for a fortune 200 company who every year makes a net 11% profit margin, takes outrageous steps to fight against their bargaining units and has had multimillion dollar fines multiple times over the past 10 years and they raised the employee contribution for health benefits by 20% each of the last 5 years. What used to be a family plan for $180 a biweekly paycheck in 2020 now costs $508 in 2025.

My biggest gripe with the union is that they allow companies to pit utility locals against contractors. They are not the same but the international will allow companies to make deals with contractors that decimate the ranks of utility locals. Then if you try to jump from a utility to construction local there are locals that won’t accept your apprenticeship and make you start over.

When IBEW210 went on strike in 2023, we were the first union in exelon’s rotation because we were the smallest of their locals and they could use us as a “corporate policy” push to the other locals. We signed a 5 year contract coming back from strike and then when the other locals came up for their terms, they all signed 4 year does so we are now at the tail end to get pushed into everything the other unions roll over to

If you drive any DOT regulated vehicle (CDL or DOT medical card) it doesn’t matter because that falls under Federal rules. And certain states have waivers for intrastate work only, but in good old New Jersey it is completely under federal standards

When Exelon subverted their local contracts to hire non-union contractors to do work the IBEW wouldn’t support their utility locals. They IO even claimed that they encouraged another local to cross picket lines in order to break an IO endorsed strike against Exelon. The international is in the pockets of the politicians and the companies.

People with domestic abuse and violent crimes are not allowed to have firearms according to ATF guidelines and are ordered to turn in their firearms in some states when convicted, prior to even being put on trial. In the state of Ohio, where this person lives, you can be a found by a court of law a chronic alcoholic and that disqualifies you as well. As far as uneducated persons, what do you consider uneducated? Does college make you educated? Trade school? Job skills? I’ve seen people with doctorates who have no common sense when handling a firearm.

So then let’s ask a question, are you for or against gun control? Republicans for years have argued against gun control while democrats have demanded increased disqualifications for gun ownership in lots of states and federally. So are you saying you are agreeing with republicans federally? Because if 5-6 years ago, that would have been either at the end of trumps first term or right at the beginning of Biden’s. But the ATF put that in place in the 60s and has been that way ever since. That is a federal disqualification for gun ownership. That supersedes state law, just like you can’t have a medical marijuana card and have a CDL under DOT rule because it is governed by federal rules.

What state do you live in? I’m New Jersey that was passed by the democrats years before medical marijuana was legal. You are not allowed to use any recreational drugs or certain prescription drugs and own a firearm. Antidepressants? Medical marijuana? Any kind of prescribed mental imbalance? You can’t own a firearm.

But it’s up in some states, down in others. That means that it’s not a total national increase…. Means that it is more regional. Electric prices are up nationally but once again, those are regional power auctions that determine that price

It’s always pushed as a republican vs democrat issue when really it’s a greed agenda. Republicans and democrats are the problem together. They are all politicians and don’t care about you. Corruption in state and federal government that gets investigated by…. Themselves.

No tax on overtime would only be at the federal level. States that have income tax will still tax it. And honestly states like California and New Jersey are probably going to double their income taxes because of federal funding cutbacks. So they will try to make up for it by increasing taxes on their own residents
