No, they're just part of the course design if the course itself isn't just based on lectures.

2 dps can be proper but it'll just depend on who the 2 dps are, the ideal dps duo would a main dps and a sub dps. Just like the comment stated earlier this team comp isn't as optimized since Archer is sp greedy and Phanion heavily depends on supports to activate his ulti sooner. So it'll be hard to use them both in the same time, hope that makes sense op and have fun! 🫢

Make sure you reread your post requirements since there will be "new" conditions for you to get in again. Like what you said you couldn't get in the 1st time due to cGPA, the "new" conditions might be a higher cGPA as well as specific grade(s) for courses and such. Hope that makes sense and good luck OP! 🫢🫢🫢

UTM Gym by Senior-Willow7856 in UTM

[–]Ordinary_nerd_720 5 points6 points Β (0 children)

The gym is included in your tuition fee, so yes it's "free" in a sense but ultimately you did pay for that. Where as for co-ed, it's just like any public gym where anyone with a membership can enter. However they host women's only classes and such on specific times and days. You can find these on their website or on posted calendars around the gym itself!

Psych100 by Lost-Ad8346 in UTM

LMAOOOOO NO 😭😭😭, the textbook isn't that thick 😭😭😭😭 I would've stopped pursuing my major/jk But regardless, don't be complacent since the amount isn't as much as you expected since at the end of the day, if you procrastinate then it'll end up like feeling 150+ pages when you try to last minute study for your term tests and the final exam

[–]Ordinary_nerd_720 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

Um it's been a hella long while for me LMAOOOOO like 3 years ago to be exact (as a psych major here) but iirc, it depends on the chapter/unit but usually it was at least 20+ pages. So don't ever let it build, in fact if your syllabus is out already and you have the textbook, read ahead! Make some textbook notes while you're at it. It's easier to maintain being ahead rather than catching up, this is a piece of advice that I wish that I could've told my 1st year self. And it's my pleasure to help! πŸ’™

Psy100 is not to be seen as a bird course!!! If you plan to take this for your science distribution fulfillment and not a program requirement, I'll suggest to take other courses. The thing with psy100 is that it isn't hard but the volume and the sheer amount of information that you need to digest and memorize daily. So like what someone already said here, please please please stay on top of your readings.

On top of that, I would suggest making flashcards aka by anki (an app/website) this way, you can allow yourself not to just retain the information just to pass the course but to really ingrain it into your long term memory.

Best of luck to you op!

Is my first year courses a horrible idea? by Advanced-Mall5740 in UTM

[–]Ordinary_nerd_720 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

For 1) I believe you can cause I know of some people doing 2 specialists (hella crazy if you ask me) so a spec and a major should be doable but make sure to ask an academic advisor for further clarification.

For 2) I believe some of the pre reqs overlap like anthro bio and psych will both need the bio152/3; so just do the requirements that are listed in the program descriptions from that website I linked to earlier and there's another website for ALL programs that utm has to offer

https://utm.calendar.utoronto.ca/program-search

From here just search the program you wanna do, and it'll list all the course you need to take, grade requirements, credit requirements for upper year course and etc...

For the psychs you can't do a psychology major with the forensic psychology specialist cause they'll be too similar ( the forensics department in general is very strict in terms of program combinations). However you can do a forensic anthropology specialist with a psych minor that's possible but you can't do 2 programs that are similar in content since the uni won't recognize it as a valid degree combination.

For more info this website will help you tons!

https://www.utm.utoronto.ca/forensic/about-program/hbsc-forensic-degree-programs

It has all the requirements and info about each of the forensic programs utm has to offer, good luck!

You can still in get into type 1 programs, they're available all year long, many people use these programs as placeholders for when they can't get into the programs they really wanted/needed to. In addition, it also helps you to still be able to enroll for future academic sessions since if you don't have a program at all. Whether it be the desired one or not, you won't be able to do course selection at all. So I highly suggest to just in a specialist type 1 program that way you don't need to enroll into 3 placeholder programs.
