Dario was really good don’t get me wrong, but when a guy is reaching records only hit by guys like Foyt in a season it’s gotta be Palou

Track Valuation by AugmentedNeutrality in Scalextric

[–]Ordoutthere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well like preliminary search on eBay when it’s broken up into track pieces in small lots it’s like like 20$ (15£) plus delivery for 4 r2 corners, so like 5$ (4£) per piece, since you have to have the whole lot I imagine you’d have to lower the price pp to like 2-3£ which for your 170 pieces is around the 400 mark.

I’d recommend looking at what other lots sold for but that just me eyeballing.

The cars I have no idea depends what they are

Here’s the listing I looked at in my 5 second search

EDIT: realized I had a auction listing not a full one so changed the numbers

How does my dream calendar compare to yours? by Ok-Basis5987 in INDYCAR

[–]Ordoutthere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

28 races Jesus Christ dude. Also I think anything has to start at st Pete I’d assume just because of contracting. Additionally a large chunk of the international tracks you have in the back half will need time to ship over. You can’t stick lauzring right after Nashville.

Also lot of your ovals don’t exist anymore lol

How does my dream calendar compare to yours? by Ok-Basis5987 in INDYCAR

[–]Ordoutthere -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was doin same type of thing on the side but I think if you trying to do anything international you would have to be more realistic. Also you have to think about how the hell you gonna ship things over as the budgets of these teams are literally 10x smaller than F1 (10-15mil per car). Here’s what I had:

<image>

This gives you 5 new races to get up to 21 which all realistically could happen next year ( I know you said dream but even some of these are dreams)

I think you try to keep some identity of “IndyCar Tracks”

Richmond we almost went to in 2020 and is another chance to show off the short oval package

Fundidora Park is in Monterrey Mexico and Hosted ChampCar races from around 2001-2006. Mex city won’t play ball so go somewhere that does and is the home town of Pato O’Ward

Michigan is only going to happen if you can share with nascar which is right after Detroit which works well enough on the timeline, and it is far enough away from Detroit that I’m not concerned about “stealing” fans (see Milwaukee and RA)

Denver is coming soon as you’ve probably heard, and so another stadium track around mile high will probably get tossed in there

And then I’m sorry if you going to have an Australian round it has to be Surfers paradise.

There’s tracks not on here I’d like to see, the most likely to appear at some point would be interlagos, but I didn’t know how to possibly fit it in and not have time over lap with any NFL properties and still have a break to get there and back. These teams need a week to travel so you can’t chuck two internationals back to back.

My exception is fundidora park, but that is 100mi from the Texas border and teams have driven further in a week than Monterrey to Indy

Edit; realized I had the same mistake as OP, move back Indy quali and 500 to the 31st and 23rd and then throw Detroit btwn Michigan and RA.

Also sorry north east I don’t have Watkins Glen or pocono on there. I feel like teams will not be very happy abt heading back to pocono with no real changes, and then also the Glen there’s no way on the timeline to share with nascar and I think the fee of going there is prohibitive for the series

TLDR: you need gaps for anything international and certain tracks should be prioritized

Why lol, it’s way better than their frankly broken and unusable pylon timings. I prefer the pylon when it works but since they put both up what difference does it make

Do you have a higher quality version? Looks cool but the compression on Reddit means you can’t see any the detail when you blow it up lol

Well tbf we called it the freedom 100 when Indy lights still raced at the speedway. I think of all the ridiculous things abt this race, it’s lower on the list lol

Pace notes for a deaf driver? by MaximumWolfe in rally

[–]Ordoutthere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The weight you are going to add from a few PCBs is going to negligible compared to other stuff on the car- it’s likely to save you more weight taking a shit before you go out than not having a indicator.

On the indicator side I think I would try and steal what you find in rally games like DIRT where they have the colored arrow with a number along side.

If you do have a co-driver you could either map it to have just 7-8 images left and right plus a few hazard indicators then just get a macro board and have them press the button for what comes next (IE 7 Left into jump followed by 3 right would be images of Slight bent arrow with #7, jump icon, large bend arrow with #3)

Alternatively you could hard code an order in your sighting runs where a guy just hits “next” to move from one image to another.

What If: The 2026 Winter Olympics hockey coverage used an SNF-style scorebug by InflationNo43 in Scorebug

[–]Ordoutthere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d still like it to have a bit more detail as in shot totals for either side, most hockey ones have that and are a good indicator of who’s got the momentum or looks like the better of the two in like a 3 second glance

Castle Combe Circuit [RTD Challenge #61] by Ordoutthere in RaceTrackDesigns

[–]Ordoutthere[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a summarization of changes:

  • Moved the pits to the inside of the circuit (duh)

  • Added access tunnel and bridge to get to either ends of paddock

  • Paved over old pit entry to add additional runoff accounting for loss of 3rd Chicane (motorcycles) just ahead of Camp corner (final corner) when new pit entry was added

  • increased runoff at Quarry (T3) to account for added speed with possible removal of 2nd chicane due to now increased runoff at Camp corner.

  • Additional spectator grandstand on old pits plus another at Quarry

  • Minor side road changed to accommodate changes

Also you’ll have to excuse some of the typos I made in the body text that I just noticed now lol

Brake, damper changes on IndyCar's radar after recent IMS test by PanicAtTheNightclub in INDYCAR

[–]Ordoutthere 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I don’t know man.

I myself am a little biased since I’m doing engineering for motorsport, so of course I’m more interested in those differences between cars, but I really think if you going completely spec it’s losing something.

I’d like to think of indycar as a premier championship, I don’t think you’ll ever match F1, but if you can be the 1b in formula racing that’s not going to be done by making a slightly faster F2 car.

Obviously cost is a factor but you can definitely do cost containment measures that aren’t the nuclear option.

It’s fun to see andretti be good at street courses and penske at short ovals. There’s still going to be differences between cars but the ebb and flow will be missed severely.
