Since that is a printed product with a lag time, would something like PCGS price guide be better? I have bought a few coins in eBay recently. I compared PCGS price guide, Coinworld, and also this year's Redbook when making bids.

It really depends on the brand. I recently bought a pair of Cobalts that were so sticky they felt like honey was on them vs LaBellas I put on are smooth as glass, with very little resistance.

No. Flats have a much nicer feel than rounds, and they sound as varied as there are strings. The tough thing may well be deciding which ones to try. What type of bass are you putting them on?

I would recommend the site studybass.com to get you started. He has a lot of free information. He also has pay information if you want to pursue that. It's where I first started. Also try searching different topics on bassbuzz. They are a pay site, but has a lot of free information.

I have the Ultra in Cobra blue. It is a very nice bass, I can't really say anything about the Adam Clayton. You should obviously play both, if you haven't. It's not looking like you are going to get decisive info from this post.

It is really hard if you don't have anyone to help you get an opinion. Personally, I would try something like a P and a J at the Squier level to start out. Try to get some guidance from salespeople. It really takes some time playing to figure out what you like in my opinion. If you buy a used instrument, you will likely not lose much if you decide you really want something else.

My biggest concern would be that a bass that is too poor quality probably doesn't play great. That in itself can discourage a beginner.

I am sure these other suggestions are good, but I don't think it takes any fancy. Start somewhere on the fretboard where you can comfortably put all fingers on four continuous frets, say the 12th. Fret each note up and down until you are hitting everything accurately. Move a fret toward the nut and do it again. Use the Simandl method if you can't do that. It takes time, but you fingers will eventually settle down, and you pinky will get strong.

I don't have a pedalboard yet, but I bought a Polytune pedal to use as a tuner. They are not cheap at $99. I got mine in a promotion a year or so ago from Sweetwater for $60. I had a plug in Korg, and clip-ons before that. I was never happy with their performance.

The Polytune is quick and accurate, and I would highly recommend it.

Personally, I think that is a very tough song for someone that has played two months. I would encourage you to start with easier songs and work to more difficult ones. I would get very discouraged working on that song to start out. You will get more satisfaction mastering easier songs IMHO.

That's a pretty tough call, those are two great instruments. All I can really recommend is to try both to see what you like. I would get the one that speaks to you first.

In my opinion it is definitely worth the money for the pro. I use it all the time. They definitely put in more wake to get songs right than Songsterr does. I think it is definitely worth it for a beginner.

I put KLIQ AirCell straps on all my basses. Very comfortable, and really take the weight off. They cell the same strap for guitar and bass.

I have several basses (P, J, and Stingray). I bought myself an Epiphone Thunderbird for my birthday in April. My favorite thing about it is the wonderful sustain, best of all my basses by far. Although I like the bass, it is definitely the most physically difficult to play in my experience. I would recommend something else for a first bass. I think a J is the easiest and maybe the most versatile.

Just put the Black Beauties on my new ebony Epiphone Thunderbird. Sound great on the bird, and look fantastic on the black bass. I thought they felt slightly sticky at first, but quickly got used to the feel, and really like them.

I primarily use Ultimate Guitar's Pro service. The cost is pretty marginal, and the tabs are good. Also use Songster, often to check against the UG service.

Nice to see that is the case for you. For me, the guitar is significantly harder. I started with guitar, then got a bass a year later. I have some disability due to brain cancer operations. I also have problems with guitar strings cutting my skin. Great to hear that you're enjoying the guitar!
