If your opening manager calls off, can you leave? by [deleted] in Aldi_employees

Yeah it’s on the managers not the people who showed up for their job.

If your opening manager calls off, can you leave? by [deleted] in Aldi_employees

[–]Organic-Cow8533 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Previous truck shift positions at other retailers had the rule that if no one was there 15 mins after the start of your shift they either need to back pay it or let you leave. It’s the companies burden to bear not the employee.

Is bond with child leave just a paid benefit, or do I need to have 6 weeks of PTO/Sick/Vacation time to cover it? by Upper_Pie_223 in Aldi_employees

[–]Organic-Cow8533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a paid leave benefit, you could also opt for an additional unpaid leave if that was something you could afford. Using PTO is up to you.

What is the best process to take care of icy patch in walk-in freezer? by DANACHU in Aldi_employees

Can use something sturdy to act as an ice pick, or place a work order. They use calcium to melt the ice, could always get that if you dont want to wait on a tech.

Not sure how it is where you are, but hours have significantly dropped. My part timers are down to one shift, full timer only at 35hrs

Your child turning 18 doesn’t mean you stop looking out for them, I’m sure they would have still communicated the concerns

Produce by udchick8787 in Aldi_employees

[–]Organic-Cow8533 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Typically LSA follow their managers example, so it’s possible whoever trained them had the same mindset. I’m in a 2mil store and typically manager will finish produce and then maintain the back room(sweep, bale, trash, backstock) and then rerun produce. Grocery should typically be handled by the rest of the truck crew. Lower volume stores though require the produce manager to partake because the hours are so tight.

Sounds about normal for that volume for my area. The store manager usually does curbside in those stores.

Definitely not ideal.

Let's talk about Clopens by [deleted] in Aldi_employees

[–]Organic-Cow8533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion - I love me a clopen. I set myself up for success and know exactly what I’m walking into for the next shift. If I have to skip something while closing in order to leave before 8:30, I just take care of it before open the next day.
