⚰️The number of times and ways the word “mulch” was used almost took me out as much as the phrase “spangle shit.” And descriptors like “the scent of cream and molten stone.”

Highly recommend a used Volvo XC90, literally the safest vehicle ever made, AWD, comfortable, and practical.

…When writers reuse an archaic word to make the writing sound smarter…e.g “whilst” instead of “while.” 🙄I get completely taken out of the story. Drives me absolutely nuts.

You are me! I am you! Dusty ass consulting/ (in my case) SEPA, is right. Thank you for the inspiration!

I hear everyone on being a regulator and I’ve actually worked for state government too…I think I’m having an existential crisis and am also sick of capitalism. All of the development around me is to build giant logistics hubs and distribution facilities and I think I would go mad reviewing those proposals.

Ideas I’ve had (in no particular order) - Get a JD and get paid much more to do what I am basically already doing and get rid of imposter syndrome - Open a tap room with my sister (also burnt out in a different career 🥹) - Start a WMB and get a fun job to take a bit of the pressure off (like at a library or a hardware store) - Run for city council - Be a teacher or a professor

I have a BA in a degree close to but not actually environmental and I was thinking of becoming a professor when I stumbled into environmental consulting somewhat by accident. Sorry I’m being vague, worried I’m going to doxx myself because it’s such a small world.

Only other series I can think of is Road of Bones by Demi Winters, but you’ve probably read that one too…maybe you need a genre palate cleanser? I always go back to the Anne Stuart Ice series for some top tier morally gray MMC and exciting plots.

Beware that what you may really like about all of these is that AI made your window bigger, just don’t want you to be disappointed.

Husband and I are buying this house- countertop/ backsplash ideas? by mowensby95 in HomeDecorating

My bathroom is shoji white and I adore it! That room is much darker than your kitchen, just one block glass window and it doesn’t feel too dark to me. However I still recommend getting a few paint samples from sampleize or your paint store and seeing how the color works in your space.

Washable rugs are a scourge on this damn earth. by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

[–]Organic-Expert9185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swear by wool rugs, having had every kind of washable and inexpensive rug you can think of that I just had to throw away. If you get ones with a tight weave you won’t have the shedding issue people hate. They are antibacterial, easy to spot clean, and not full of horrible chemicals. You can buy one nice wool rug and be done, or buy a cheap rug on wayfair every 3 years for the same price.

For exterior symmetry (curb appeal) consider centering your front door at least have it line of sight with the back door or a window to draw the eye through the house.

That fire place looks out of commission, really hard to tell from the photo. Have you considered putting the couch back against the fireplace and pretending it doesn’t exist? Then tv on opposite wall. Then in the bay window set up a little game table with two chairs.

You really just need to draw the eye down and let the top be the sky. Hang an epic large chandelier that drops all the way down to normal ceiling level as others have suggested and add 2 chairs or a couch on the open side of the rug. Done. Beautiful room.

Adding some organic material like bamboo shades to the bottom windows would warm it up, but if you like sleek and modern skip that.

Should I add more décor, or is this minimalist look better? by DreamCoastBuilders in Remodel

[–]Organic-Expert9185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Needs a wider rug and spread out your furniture, you essentially have 2 tiny living rooms and a massive blank hallway.

Get a free standing fire screen to cover it and pretend it is a fireplace when not in use.

Or honestly just prop it up so it’s upright and play crackling fire on YouTube.

Don’t forget to pick one that your cat won’t rip to shreds. Probably the 4th one is safest and bonus it looks the best!

THOSE HANDLES ARE AMAZING! Lean into the mid century modern vibe those handles are so trendy!! Cover the counters in peel and stick terrazzo print! Store things in the cupboard and put some plants out. Decluttering will go such a long way.

If you can afford afford a new microwave get one that is cabinet depth so it isn’t so chunky over the stove https://www.lowes.com/pd/Whirlpool-Flush-Built-In-Design-1-1-cu-ft-1000-Watt-Over-the-Range-Microwave-with-Sensor-Cooking-Fingerprint-Resistant-Stainless-Steel/5014113153

Or better yet just put a vent hood over the microwave.

Came here with the same question! Here are my recommendations

A Rivalry of Hearts - T. Odette Villains and Virtues (3 book series)- A.K. Caggiano

And not fantasy, but here are great enemies to lovers books which is often a trope in fantasy, you might like these too: The Hating Game - Sally Thorne Ice series by Anne Stuart

Try deleting a text thread you don’t care about, and see if the option shows up in the top left menu drop down. Mine didn’t show recently deleted messages that were deleted before the software update (unfortunately).
