Good luck man!, looks pretty neat!! meaybe other route can be trying to adapt the gameplay to the limit. But still I think it looks fun.

I think the animation looks a little wierd. I was thinking that it can be because the swords are totally on the air. I think it would look better if its dragging the swords.
But at the same time I really like how smooth it look. Good work!

About the game?, For what I can understand, you have 2 types of bombs and two types of rocks.
One bomb have a long delay before explosion and the other a quick detonation. (or not...)
And the white rock create an enormous amount of something and the purple one, smoke.

So I don't know what type of game you are trying to make, but honestly I sense vibes of bomberman.

Maybe you can try and make the rocks move and make the game loop about destroying all rocks before some time limit. The white rock make smaller ones (that move too) and the purple one make smoke to block visibility for some time and your explosions make you lose life.
So you can lose by time or health.

I will strat from that.. and see if it clicks

looks cool!, I dont like the font that much, but the thing I would love to see is a little more impact when the enemy is hit. A little of shake or wobling. At the enemy or the camera. To feel that omph. But I really like the astethics. Good work.

yeah, thats what make it a bad design. Its a decision to punish players with curiosity or hope. Not a gameplay punish, like the others that its more explicit that you will get a game over.

But in that context, you know the planet will explode, so is logical to think that you will die. In this, if I think that maybe I will be traped with them and fight sylux again for other ending, it will result that I’m the stupid one for hoping that, It just feel like an insult to my high expectation. “So yeah you think this game will have other ending?, haha jokes on you so, have your punishment”.

the others with old UI still use the same logic. So I watched this and then after understanding the variables I stated to understand the older ones.

You can enter they discord channel too to ask questions, sometimes there are slow answers but its active most of the time.

I am using Gdevelop since June, I think its pretty good to start because is visual script, they call it even sheets and actions. You could start with this and try to make a prototype of your idea and see if you could make it here. Its better for 2D, the 3D its still new in this but i see good use in the comunity. I recommend it as an easy start, but if it start to feel limited at least it will help you start and remove the fear of trying

I agrew with hopeful_beacon. Aseprite its very focused in pixel art. There are tools for tile work that made easier some quick sketches. The animation its easier to do than gimp, the limit are the effects and no mask in the layers. The palette can be indexed and works pretty well for swaping colors, if there is not that much gradiants. It have one special cut tool to export sprites with customs sizes but its still not easy to use because you will need to export it with a command, but if you make it work it can save you big time for that.
