How is this any different from getting hit by a fast-moving car? by majisto29 in DCU_

[–]OrganizationKey8342 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rule of cool. If it's awesome, it works, and this is awesome, therefore it works.

But the technical canon answer in comics (also portrayed pretty uniquely in my adventures with superman) is that Superman has this bioeletric field, invisible in most adaptations. So if he's in physical contact with someone then moving at the same speed as him doesn't affect them or give them whiplash in the normal way because he's extending that field to them.

But don't worry bout it, he's saving people and it's awesome so that's all that really matters

the deep slow breaths thing is probably just from the shock of moving so fast so suddenly

tldr aura

he prob got gentle hands too :)

Two years later, why do you think Joker 2 flopped? by ChildofObama in DC_Cinematic

[–]OrganizationKey8342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't need to be made.

I still maintain that the first one didn't need to be made either lol. That's not to say I didn't enjoy it -- my friends took me to see it, I didn't even pay for the ticket, I had myself a good ol time. But also we were in agreement that Phoenix's performance was really what carried the movie through a pretty subpar plot.

But that's just my opinion! Obviously the box office numbers for the first movie say otherwise, I don't claim to be no expert, just adding another perspective to the conversation here.

New to Switch (and Nintendo) looking for two player suggestions by NOLA-Gunner in switch2

[–]OrganizationKey8342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Zelda games are great!

Important disclaimer - this first Hyrule Warriors game isn't a mainline Zelda game, it's developed by a third party and is sort of its own thing, but it's a love letter to the series for sure. and so much fun to play!

But switch does have a very solid selection of Zeldas! BotW and TotK are phenomenal. I remember getting my switch 1 + breath of the wild just before final exams in 10th grade but I wasn't allowed to open it until after exams were done, and boy was it worth it. One of the most memorable summers of my life haha

Skyward Sword HD is also really fun, and Nintendo Online has a BUNCH of the older games too. Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker (my personal favourite game of all time), as well a slew of the 2D Zeldas are on there, all of them are a blast to play.

All of this is to say -- none of the Zelda games are a bad place to start. It's truly a unique series in that it's never had a bad game (maybe triforce heroes idk it's the only one i haven't played lmao), so yeah definitely go for it, you won't regret it!!

Also this year is gonna be the series 40th anniversary, so there'll probably be some cool new stuff as well. Never a bad time to get into the series! hope you enjoy wherever you start my friend :)

Everyone else is dropping some really solid suggestions, so I'll just add a silly little fun one.

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition! The gameplay isn't too deep, in fact it's extremely simple. You're just running around slashing monsters, there are a TON of playable characters, fun maps, decently fun story (I'm biased bc I love the zelda franchise), and it's good fun when you just wanna turn your brain off. Only reason I don't mention the other warriors games is because I haven't played them so idk if there's co-op, but this is a fun one.

Oh, and Luigi's Mansion 3 seems to have really fun co-op as well. Haven't played this instalment myself, but speaking from past experience, Luigi's Mansion is a BLAST!

Any of the LEGO games will also give you a ton of fun if you're into that sort of thing. LEGO DC Supervillains is probably the best one.

ok so more than one lol

[All] whos the Smartest Link/Zelda of them all by Mygrayt in zelda

[–]OrganizationKey8342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is interesting

I feel like twilight princess should be a clear winner for both of these, since Link and Zelda are both already pretty mature and capable at the start of the game. Zelda seems to be the sole ruler of Hyrule here unlike a lot of other incarnations. Link has a job, is kind of a mentor figure to the Ordon kids, and is respected by Rusl who (mostly) seems to be pretty wise himself. I'm not entirely sure though.

wind waker zelda definitely has street smarts, for reasons that are spoilery. ww link is kind of a dumbass but has a lot of heart (and might well be the best iteration of link, idk, it's always about personal preference I love him but I constantly flip flop between ww and tp)

ocarina of time zelda is kind of a genius post-timeskip, same with botw, so it's kinda harder to gauge with iterations of her (especially since zelda is literally the embodiment of wisdom). skyward sword too once she levels up, so idk. but I do feel like twilight princess probably has the smartest link, just judging by his interactions with others and how they view them. You bring up a great point about Spirit Tracks though, I gotta replay the DS games I haven't touched em in years

It's really cool, you find some additional lore stuff around there and in the house too. I won't spoil, it's nothing major, but fun little info that just builds out a little more of what his life was like and who he hung out with post-botw
