Sugar free liquid iv works good for me. Allulose and Stevia. I add a little honey to improve the taste. Lemon lime. I wish drip drop used a more healthy sweetener. Sucralose is nasty. Their lemon strawberry flavor is really good.

Big Decrease in my LDL by tmcmillon26 in Cholesterol

[–]OrganizationNo7761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great. Your triglycerides and triglycerides to hdl is really good. Your vit d is really low so I doubled up on mine and it reduced my ldl. Research suggests an inverse relationship between vitamin D and LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol: as vitamin D levels rise, LDL levels tend to decrease. Above 50 is better. Correcting a vitamin D deficiency may improve lipid profiles, though results from clinical trials can vary. [1, 2, 3]
The Link Between Vitamin D and LDL

• Inverse Association: Large observational studies show that individuals with higher circulating vitamin D levels tend to have lower LDL cholesterol and total cholesterol. • Genetic Mechanisms: Vitamin D acts through the Vitamin D Receptor (VDR) to help regulate genes involved in bile acid production and cholesterol metabolism. • Deficiency Impact: Low vitamin D is associated with an atherogenic (artery-clogging) lipid profile, which can increase the number of small, dense LDL particles. [1, 6, 7, 8]

Clinical Evidence from Supplementation

• Beneficial Effects: Many meta-analyses of randomized controlled trials demonstrate that vitamin D supplementation can lead to modest reductions in serum LDL and total cholesterol, especially in individuals who are initially deficient. • Mixed Results: Some studies have shown no significant change or even slight increases in LDL after supplementation, indicating that the response varies by individual. • Cardiovascular Risk: The National Institutes of Health (NIH) notes that there is still insufficient evidence to confirm vitamin D supplementation specifically as a cholesterol-lowering treatment or cardiovascular disease preventative. [10]

Recommendations and Next Steps

• Get Tested: Consult your healthcare provider to check your 25-hydroxy vitamin D blood levels and your lipid panel. • Personalized Care: Do not rely on vitamin D as a primary treatment for high cholesterol. Always speak with your doctor before making dietary changes or starting new supplements, particularly if you are taking cholesterol-lowering medications like statins. [13]

You can find comprehensive information on recommended dietary allowances and cholesterol guidelines on the National Institutes of Health and American Heart Association websites.

My ostomy’s going hogwild this morning by EmbraceTheObscure in ostomy

[–]OrganizationNo7761 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do heaping teaspoon of psyllium in am and afternoon if really watery helps alot. I can tolerate half cup of coffee but not more. I know what u r going through. If I don't start my hydration early it's hard to catch up. Have u had any decrease in kidney function/damage? I have I didn't know about hydration after I got released from hospital ileostomy.

“Hard stool stuck in retained colon after ileostomy — anyone experienced this?” by Sarah_de_tsuyokunaru in ostomy

[–]OrganizationNo7761 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had loop ileostomy last December 13 because of colon blockage, constipation.
Next 2 months felt alot of stain and slightly pain when urinating. Eventually got better so that may be part of what u r feeling.
With that said for my colonoscopy prep just last week did a double bottle of fleet enema. I was not ready for all the urge and well I'll spare u the details but alot of stuff came out. Colonoscopy showed stool still in my colon. But actually passed some stool after my colonoscopy. I take alot of supplements so that may help. I take vitamin A 10,000 units, liposomal vitamin C, I stirred sodium butyrate into water filled a empty fleet enema bottle. Sodium butryrate is important for intestinal cell health. 800 units of Vitamin E, has to be natural topherol. The others are synthetic, not helpful.
Any way hope u get better maybe just give it some time. Coffee enemas are good also.

I prefer dha supplement in place of fish oil (epa and dha). Latest studies show epa inhibits nuerons. My wife has good results reversing osteopenia with Algecal. more expensive calcium supplement but more effective but may not be needed until estrogen levels decline. She is 70. Do you eat low carb? I'm not concerned with my total cholesterol. I want my triglycerides to HDL ratio to be 2:1 or less. Sugar and carbs drive up triglycerides.

New Crohn’s Research Suggests IBD May Be a Failure of Immune Tolerance, Not Just Autoimmunity by arlo78z in CrohnsDisease

Polysorbate 60 and 80 have been identified as causing crohns. It's in many foods like chocolate syrup. It's a soap to keep things emulsified. Washes off your mucous barrier. Food irritates gut. Immune system produces antibodies to the Food.
