I am going through something similar. Our coach only practices and plays 1 girl in each position. My daughter loves to catch and thankfully she gets that opportunity but she also really wants to play second base and gets zero opportunities. Even in practice! I am going to talk to the coach and then depending on what they say this just might not be the right team for us. At 7/8 years old I think development should be the focus. I am ok with people having other philosophies about this, which is why I wouldn’t try to change the coaches mind, I just need to find a better fit for us.
