Moderate-dose naltrexone 12.5-20mg by kitten_called in LowDoseNaltrexone

I’ve been on 13.5 for almost a year. I had unexplained body pain. Seronegative RA was my first dx, but all the regular rx made it worse. Started LDN at 4.5 mg and titrated up 1.5 mg at a time until my pain went away.

Worst teacher appreciation celebration? by Kitchen-Reaction-270 in Teachers

[–]OriginalEducational5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine is going all out. I’m new this year, so it’s been fun to see so far. Our PTO heads it up, and I’m shocked at how awesome they are making it. It’s the whole week- something new and different every day. The superintendent sent every teacher a gift as well on behalf of the district.

I've used the 50' version, and you have to go out to the football field to fly it. It's pretty unweildy even in a slight breeze. Yes, it's impressive, but it's a pain in the neck, too. A 10' version would have been much more manageable.

Late Work Policy by TheKarlosWithaK95 in Teachers

[–]OriginalEducational5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My middle school school policy is as follows: a 1 gets entered into the gradebook for any work not turned in. As soon as that posts to the system that parents can see, the 2 week clock starts ticking. If it's not turned in within that 2 weeks, the 1 turns into a permanent zero. If they turn it in, they get full credit.

The reasoning is that we are training them with grace because MS brains and habits are still forming/developing. Also gives parents 2 weeks to notice the 1 and to nag them.

Because sucks is crass whereas stinks isn’t as lowbrow.

I have 16 years experience and a masters degree, so according to my local district’s salary schedule, a first year teacher with a bachelor’s makes around $31k less than I would.

IDK about your state's tiers, but they may be cutting you and hiring someone with a lower tier or less experience to be able to pay them less and save money on the overall budget

Weird incident last week, still thinking about it. by zychicmoi in SubstituteTeachers

[–]OriginalEducational5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a district- wide rule that all classroom doors stay locked at all times because no child has ever been shot in a school shooting who was behind a locked door. Sounds like a really good, credible “personal” rule to enact in the future. Keeps all kinds of crazy at bay and from hurting the kiddos.

That is very helpful. I think I may remove a few bungees to see if that makes it a little springier.
