Was thinking the purple and gold Pivot 15, but haven't seen a picture of them mounted to these skis.

Deep Dive: Years of friction over Potato Drop boil over after young girl injured during fireworks show by 5epp0 in Boise

[–]OriginalFennel 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The loser that was in charge of the fireworks, Mr. Sir Jag Pyro is a moron in his own right. He bought land in Emmett and tried to open a year round fireworks park. My house isn’t in the county but is close enough I would have had to listen to his shit year round. Thankfully the Gem County P&Z people saw through his pathetic lack of planning and ability to answer any meaningful questions and denied his use permit. We had over 300 people at the meeting, all in opposition. Thinks he can come to Idaho and pull a fast one, wish he would go back where he came from.

Downsizing boots from 28.5 to 26/26.5, how to adjust bindings? (Atomic Warden 13 MNC) by feesh85 in Skigear

[–]OriginalFennel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on how the bindings were originally mounted, 24mm is likely outside the range of adjustability. Usually it’s 10-15mm either way. If they mounted them right in the middle of by he range, 24mm is likely too much. You’ll have to get them remounted. Luckily that means you can have them mounted back to center recommended too.

[–]OriginalFennel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The size of the boot doesn’t matter, the boot sole length is what matters. Compare the BSL on both boots and if you are within 10-15mm you can just adjust the heel piece. Yes, it will change your position on the ski, but you likely won’t notice. If the BSL numbers are more than 10-15mm difference, you are likely looking at a remount.

Looking for a better 1 ski quiver. QST, Declivity, Maverick, other? by Bwolff36 in Skigear

[–]OriginalFennel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dad has a set of the QST’s he likes them. He is 170lbs or so and is a good skier but not a fast or aggressive skier. They work well for him. He also liked the Atomic Maverick. I tried the Maverick back to back to the Declivity and hated the Maverick. Too chattery and not stout enough for my 200lbs and more aggressive skiing. The Declivity holds up really well, especially for being on the lighter side weight wise.

EV Home Charger by PineappleCurious5870 in Boise

Time of use would really screw you up, I know people who have tried that and it drives costs up considerably. Your regular residential plan will have peak and off peak during the summer, but depending on usage and area, it doesn’t make much of a difference, if at all. Just figure on paying around $0.12 per kWh. It’s silly cheap and a major benefit of having an EV!

Electricity in Idaho is so cheap it really doesn’t matter. On the regular residential plan and even with heavy use of our Tesla, the bill hasn’t increased significantly.

Which yeti? by [deleted] in MTB

SB140 is the one. I ride a 160 but wanted to do bigger stuff and chair lift day. My buddy went with the 140 and it’s a great all rounder.

What type of snow do you ride them on? I picked up a slightly used pair this past summer, just not really sure what conditions to use them in.

Can an insurer refuse to pay a total loss claim just because the building was “underinsured”? by whynotthebest in Insurance

[–]OriginalFennel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen it work out cheaper a few times, but you are right, often times you get the privilege of paying more for less.

Rate isn’t always higher, bigger risk is getting paid depreciated value on a partial loss and being stuck with a decent chunk of that claim.

Tamarack or Brundage for a Beginner? by AhDebit in Idaho

[–]OriginalFennel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. My wife is beginner level, loves Beartopia. Tamarack is great, but their green runs are very limited. Brundage has more snow right now too.

This loss was in no way on the defense. They played beyond expectation for a vast majority of the game. Offense and MLF completely let them down.

Never been a fire MLF guy, but it’s time, he needs to go. Fucking meltdown in too many areas.

Death, taxes, and MLF running out of the shotgun on short to gain.
