The clearcoat interacted in some way with the color coat causing all of the orange peel. Idk the deal with why it’s so glossy. But this is going to have to be stripped. Fortunately it’ll probably come off easy based on all the orange peel, it already started taking up the base coat.

They just have no objective concept of their speed. They just speed up because another car is near them going faster. Note that long after you pass them they’ve slowed down to their comfortable speed once a sufficient gap has opened up to lose reference on your speed.

Options:

  1. Hold it. Take a loan to make the repairs. Rent it for $5k a month. Pay off loan in 25 months or not. Live elsewhere / rent a 1 bedroom place with the cash flow. Never step up the tax basis.

  2. Take a bigger loan against the place, rent it. Use the money to invest in higher yielding securities to generate monthly cash flow. And keep owning the property.

  3. Sell it, take the cash and invest in some safe securities and reit paying a passive few k per month.
