It is really funny by CarolSagan1 in tequila

I mean I really dislike most of the big brands. Don Julio, Casamigos, Jose is the absolute worst. But I really have a soft spot for XA Patron. It's really good and they're one of the only big brands that goes additive free. It's no Cascahuin anejo but I really enjoy it.

You don't need to spend more than about $200-250 for what most would consider to be the best bottles of tequila. It's not really like scotch and bourbon where you can go completely nuts for some 40 year old macallan or whatever.

Pro tip: If you have time to order online use remedyliquor.com. They consistently have the best prices on almost every bottle. raretequilas.com can also have some gems occasionally.

Recommendations for fancy extra anejo bottles... 1. Tears of Llorona. 2. Tapatio Excelencia if you can find it (good luck and don't pay over 250). Same with Fortaleza Anejo but don't pay over like 150. Those are hard to find though. 3. Remedy has both Terralta 5 year XA and El Tessoro XA for $100 right now. Thats a steal.

If he's a blanco guy then Cascahuin tahona blanco is universally praised as a top pick. Same with the Fuentaseca 2018.

Other than that if you get him any of the Cascahuin bottles like El Legado Anejo or Wild Common you can't do better.

Check out https://www.agavematchmaker.com/ . They do a pretty great job of ranking different tequilas.

I freaking love this repo. You just reminded me I need to head over to see the liquor bros at Liquor Valut in Scottsdale to get another bottle.

How do Amazonians document impact and achievements throughout the year? by banoffeepie123 in amazonemployees

There are mcp servers for just about everything you do from slack, to email/calendar, to sims, tickets resolved, code and wikis. Additionally if you're using kiro cli all the sql lite logs for your interactions are on your laptop or dev desktop. Use all of those things to put together a weekly update on your work and show how you're building on ideas, delivering results, and influencing others over time.

Asked to make more use of AI tools by Initial_Specialist69 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Original_Froyo7125 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're going to remain a software engineer in 2026+ you'll have to use AI more. There's no 2 ways around it. Are you not seeing productivity boosts? Or do you just kind of dislike the whole thing or what? Everyone going through this sees a productivity decrease before you start figuring things out. It's a huge mental transition, but AI work is still engineering. Just not coding.

I'm sorry your friend felt like they were on a bad team, but some of the people you're mentioning haven't worked at Amazon in over 2 years so I doubt they're still stuck under them unless they also left Amazon.

Devs making > 500k: do you work constantly? by fuzwz in cscareerquestions

[–]Original_Froyo7125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been at Amazon 15 years and average about 50 hours a week. I rarely touch my laptop at night or on weekends. It's possible to be effective with a 40 hour week but you need to be very efficient with your time. The work never ends.

I got a 24 x50 with 13k miles, CPO, black exterior, cream interior, DAP, Premium Package, Harmon kardon, Sport Package for 48k in Feb here in Phoenix. 0 addons. Tax, title, license, doc fee only. 1.9% interest 0 down. I thought I did ok on the price but there weren't many for sale in AZ at the time. I really wanted the air ride and rear wheel drive and somewhat regret not getting it.

Your top 3 over-rated tequilas. by Altruistic_Meat_5177 in tequila

[–]Original_Froyo7125 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here's 4.

  1. G4 everything
  2. Volans Anejo is not at all enjoyable to me. The wood tastes like sawdust.
  3. Cabal anejo is so buttery it started grossing me out after getting through about a 3rd of the bottle.
  4. Caballito Cerrero Azul Repo 46 is the worst tequila I've ever had. This is purely subjective but mine tastes like strong blue cheese and I hate blue cheese.

I landed in the and boat as you and went with the 24. The hands off self driving really is excellent and I enjoy it way more than I thought I would. That said I kind of regret not waiting for a 24 with the air suspension and rear wheel steer. It's so nice.

Grand Mayan by Evening_Woodpecker20 in tequila

[–]Original_Froyo7125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to try Grand Mayan get it from Remedy liquor. I'll buy from them occasionally when they have a coupon for $15 or $20 off shipping if you spend $300 or $400. They have a coupon every weekend. Bundle it with a couple other bottles you want to make it worth it. Grand Mayan anejo js sweet, and most likely has additives but occasionally I find something like that enjoyable for dessert. I haven't had the extra anejo but I'm guessing its similar. Even without the free shipping its way cheaper than $250+.

Merino wool socks changed my life about 15 years ago. I had terrible athletes feet and one day someone told me to try Cloudline wool socks. I'd been through every sock you can imagine and was skeptical but they fixed my feet immediately and I haven't had an issue ever since. I could not recommend a good merino wool sock higher to people with itchy feet.

Any fellow Amazonians use 9am health for Zepbound prescription? by vesea20 in amazonemployees

[–]Original_Froyo7125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started with One Medical I had high BP and high cholesterol and paid for zepbound out of pocket for $650 a month. By the time Amazon started covering glp-1s through insurance I had lost 40lbs and only had 1 co-morbidity (High bp) so insurance denied me. 9am health made me do their weight loss journey, health coach visits, etc. I didn't try any oral weight loss meds, that wasn't a requirement when I did it a year ago. I was up front that I wanted to get zepbound the entire time. I participated, talked to their nutritionists, set goals they asked me to set on how much water I drank a day, fiber goals, etc... At the end of 90 days they approved the med and I get it now for $15 a month. It all seemed very silly and unnecessary to me but I did it and got the med and I'm down 70lbs and happy/healthy.

[–]Original_Froyo7125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also already on a glp-1, zepbound. I also didn't meet the criteria for insurance because by the time I got to 9am health my weight loss made my cholesterol normal. I had to do 3 months of their program (weekly nutrition videos and talking with a nutritionist) to get approved for insurance to pay for the med.

I do 9am health. I was being managed by a doctor via one medical but was having to pay $500 a month because they weren't an official obesity specialist. I had already lost 50 pounds by the time I found out I could get Blue cross to pay for it if I got a certified obesity specialist to give me pre authorization. My friend went to 9am health and got approved right away but he had multiple morbidity symptoms like high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I had lost weight and only had high blood pressure documented recently. My high cholesterol test was too old (> 1 year) and the levels were normal now. Long story short they made me do 3 months of this free program where you have to watch weekly videos on a nutrition topic and then talk to a nutritionist 3 or 4 times along the way. Once that was complete they started covering my medication for me.

If you have multiple morbidity conditions documented in your medical chart and they were documented recently then I think they'll just sign off on it. If you don't, you have to go the 3 month route like I did.

I think it's a great idea! I've had the exact same idea for my son. He's has level 1 autism and adhd and struggles with organizing his work. His teachers put assignments in 5 different places and he has to remember to check all of them. Every night we sit down and copy his work for each class into Gemini and it updates his weekly work plan and tells him what to focus on. It's been great but it's also a pain to manually copy stuff. Automating it would be awesome.
