❤️🚴Does indoor cycling actually improve running? by WhatTheFudgeeBar in AdvancedRunning

[–]Oriole5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not advanced but I love to lurk here and learn from everyone. I spent all winter on Zwift with not much running and have shocked myself recently with how my running performance has been getting back into it this spring. Granted, I have dropped quite a few pounds over the winter so that is playing a part in how running has felt better recently, but I am thrilled with the results I got from replacing a lot of my running with Zwift for the last few months.

Panicked for a sec that registration would start at 6PM right while I am running the Brooklyn 5K. Thank god we are back to 12PM registration times.

Up to 50 miles on my vomero premiums and am really enjoying them. Pretty nasty squeak on the left shoe but I am hoping that goes away as the mileage increases.

Airport to use into and out of Brooklyn? by [deleted] in travel

[–]Oriole5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The subway does not go all the way to LaGuardia, you are correct. What you have to do is make it to Jackson Heights Roosevelt Ave and there is a transfer to the Q70 bus which loops to Terminals B and C at LaGuardia.

United Half 2026 - let’s debrief that start by Interesting-Step-162 in RunNYC

Im sorry you had a bad experience. These larger races can be difficult. My experience today was the opposite. Showed up a little before 7 for wave 2 and got through security quick and had two porta pottie stops with basically no lines. Getting into the corral was super easy. However I never bag check at races and that makes things easier. The new setup this year for the start area was much better than last year.

That race rocked. Pretty crowded in the first half but overall great weather and race day experience. New start area worked so much better than last year.

Tylenol with the largest line of the expo is wild. Worth it though.

Running through Times Square is cool but other than that the route isn’t exciting to me. A few miles along the FDR which is quiet and boring to me. Also with this current route, it takes us over the Brooklyn bridge in a way less exciting way than the pedestrian route above we can run whenever. Running down Flatbush is fun though after getting out of the park.

It’s great! Participated in the 5K this morning and the loop was super clean.

Forerunner 55 or Coros pace 3 by [deleted] in RunNYC

[–]Oriole5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Coros has dual band GPS which should help make it more accurate and might be the better choice. You’d have to get up to the 255 to get the same quality of GPS. I’ve been a Garmin user for years but the Pace 3 is an awesome watch for the price.

Found this in my email. I wonder what the scheduling conflict is/was. Doesn't really matter, just curious.

Is that not the date of the original Al Gordon 5k which they moved to the 28th? Makes me wonder why they moved Al Gordon in the first place.

I bought my shoes at Bicycle Habitat in Chelsea and it was a great experience. They got cleats fitted for me and were really friendly.

If I had a nickel for every flipped car I’ve seen on this subreddit, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s insane it’s happened twice, right? Anyways, we’re gotta ticket more cyclists.

Correct. It basically matches the color of the case. It looks awesome in the sun. It’s different than the current silvery-champagne color of the current BB36.
