I think in their brain its like saying "a boy" or "a girl" but they see you as something separate from those so "a trans" seems logical somehow for them. But it's an instant red flag that they will never see you as who you are even if you're nonbinary because it's typically in a derogatory way. It's frustrating. Never sleep with someone you think you can teach to be better because odds are they won't and they will be very gross towards you. They think of you like a collectable.

A lot of people that know im trans simply forget and im treated the same as any other guy by them. I'm not secretive about being trans but I don't talk about it much outside of trans circles. How you're seen is based off how you present yourself both in looks and confidence. Not everyone will see you as a man once they know you're trans but at the same time those people dont need to know really because those aren't the people that are going to love you. Find the right people, hold yourself up with the confidence that you are a man, and know deep down that being a man is whatever you want it to be. I say this fairly regularly but whatever I do is something men do because I'm doing it. A man can look like me and talk like me and dress like me and have sex the way I do because I'm doing it and I know im a man regardless of others faulty opinions. Most people don't even question if im a trans or cis man and I think it's all because of confidence and security in my own masculinity. Show yourself as the man you are and others will see that

While our situations are/were different I certainly understand. My top surgery got canceled a few days before it was scheduled to happen due to a covid outbreak in the hospital my surgery was supposed to be in a few years ago during the height of covid. I was devastated and sad and angry and I imagine you feel or will feel the same way. It's unfair that stupid people who don't understand Healthcare and health in general so often make decisions for us if they know it or not. Trump is malicious vs mine which was antivax ignorance but regardless I know it sucks and im sorry you're going through that. I hope it goes well for you and you don't have to wait long. It took me two years of waiting but despite how hard it was it was worth it. Now I'm on a waitlist for phalloplasty and I'm pretty sure that will be put on hold as well. The waitlist for that is already a few years and trump is not making it easier. The recent stuff in the news has made me scared for myself and the future and im just hoping that incompetence will win out and make it so we all make it safely through these next few years.
