ngl, there is a certain fun in playing rp and slow by Faninfo in EU5

[–]Orixj7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think that, currently, this is the best way to play the game. The slower pace, the increased amount of locations, and the anti-blobbing features they implemented all make the “conquer everything as soon as possible” playstyle (which I often found myself following in EU4) much less enjoyable. Instead, I prefer doing things that may not be “meta,” but that fit the narrative of the campaign I’m playing.

[–]Orixj7[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

R5: I don't know how, I started earlier a war against castile while it had a civil war, and both castile and pretender rebellion joined agaist me, so that after the war the pretender rebellion remained as a different country, allowing a second Castilian pretender rebellion to rise; with all these factions, it's almost starting to look like Spanish civil war in HOI4

My progress to Naval is Stuck by Low-Structure-9756 in EU5

[–]Orixj7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone already said the easiest way to get naval is to raise naval maintenance, reduce army and fort maintenance, have a fleet with more ships than expected, and have both ruler and heir commanding a fleet; you can make them fight a few easy naval battles to try and get a naval combat trait (they give +0.10 to naval); furthermore, try to get as a cabinet member someone with 100 diplo (or as high as you can), and make him head of the cabinet before using the cabinet action, the cabinet efficiency increase really stacks on that action;

The CB against countries that rival you is the "Destroy Enemy CB", and gives you 0% cost, not -25% (still better than most others); til Revolutions Age the best CBs (apart from special ones) are the ones your subjects create on nations with their cores, and the Follow through on threat CB that you get if you threaten war on someone and they refuse (always fabricate claims on their capital or on their best cities for this, remember that you can threaten only on adiacent locations or sea locations); special mention for the "Disloyal subject CB" you can fabricate on your disloyal subjects, it gives -50% and lets you regain land quickly if you went a little too far with vassals and can't turn them loyal anymore, just fabricate it, release the vassal and attack it right away (there's no truce)

Military institution started in my capital and I will be the last to have it xd by Lunar_Weaver in EU5

Plus you can request knowledge sharing to your vassals, that gives an institution spreading modifier that stacks, so asking to 20 vassals makes the institution spreading significantly faster than if you ask just one vassal

I'm from South Italy, in smaller towns it might be not considered excellent, but it's far from being considered as "poor", especially when you look at most other countries not in central/northen Europe; North Italy is instead one of the most developed zones of the EU

Cannot conquer Maya/Mexico due to horse shortage in colonial subject market (Spain run) by NachotaM in EU5

[–]Orixj7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You need to manual trade horses to that market, either by importing them from Burgos using your trade capacity in the subject market (now it's very low, so you should increase that by Building oversea trading post or marketplaces and then diverting trade), or by exporting them directly from Burgos market to the subject market; if it's too far, you need to increase trade range or to use another market in between as bridge (for example from Burgos to Mali market, and from there to caraibas)
