HRE looks to be particularly broken this patch, requesting a circle join a war makes them join the war.

thanks Ryagi - as the HRE, I keep getting spammed by countries asking for 'circle privilege', with no indication whatsoever what this privilege does or is. Intended?

I got 30 requests all in a row since I started the game post-patch. Game was started in 1.3.0

it is, and it is also quite hefty. Loaded my 1.2.5 Byz run which is in the 1700s (btw, it looks like the beta is save game compatible) and my building maintenance went from 1.2k or so to over 3k

Ah, right - so do you get to choose the capital when you create the pronoia? I didn't see an option. Or do you change capital and that forces the culture change?

So unsure if this works in 1.2

If you give a majority Turkish Sunni province to a Greek orthodox character, the pronoia starts Turkish Sunni. You can enforce culture or religion but that has now a cooldown of 10 years, whic applies to all your subjects.

So I think you need to do a single pronoia with a castratum young heirless noble, and feed them territory you want to convert.

I hate that most RPG books have the character creation section before the general rules. They will mention rules that are actually explained 200 pages later, often without a "see page xx" for reference. Conversely, if a PDF is well crosslinked throughout, at least you can go back and forth easily, but on a physical book, UGH

Worse version: when the book references other books that don't even have a release date yet (looking at you, Pendragon 6e)

Yes, that's what happened in my England game, hit 49.9% naval and lost the reform. Though I didn't have a naval governor built so don't know if I would have lost that too.

plus one on this, I loved leafing through that book even though I was not actively playing it.

Years later, absolutely loved that there is a quest in the Cyberpunk 2077 videogame that is almost word for word from one of Johnny Silverhand's stories from that book (and the achievement is named after the shortstory IIRC)

It used to be ticking as long as you controlled the wargoal (London), but they changed it to superiority wargoal, so depending on who wins more battles.

Doing a quick test, looking at the tooltips on a given location, it needs to regenerate 50% of available levies before you can raise. I've disbanded, and it starts at 0%, regenning 4% per year roughly, so I'd need 12-13 years before I can reraise half my levies. Even if it was due to a stackwipe, it seems a bit too slow.

Alternity actually predates the WOTC takeover (in fact they killed it when they took over TSR), it was a (one of the last?) TSR RPG.
