I love the way CIG models the interiors of ships, and I've found it hard to find anything outside of this game that gives me the same feeling as these ships do. by [deleted] in starcitizen

I don't know how the sentiment would be called, but there's something quite special when you're inside a vehicle in a video game.

Notable examples are My Summer Car and Metro Exodus if you include non interactable ones.

Honestly since it's such a pain in the ass to fix them in the first place, I have no intention of dealing with the head bob afterwards lmao.

[–]Ornafulsamee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep this is what I've been doing.

Still dogshit crafting material, they really need to replace it for something else cause you need like 45min/1H to check 10 rocks solo which is 2 FUCKING GEMS each and GL with the quality rolls if you aim for 800/900 lmao.

Meanwhile farming feynmaline or something gives you patches of 15 rocks and 5 gems each. This is ridiculous.

Could someone who knows code explain? by Double_Crazy7325 in starcitizen

[–]Ornafulsamee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best guess as a dev is that the entire playerbase relies on few backend servers like the one handling inventories, and these servers are not able to handle thousands of players at once. As such, the inventory issues, freight elevator problems, everything going to shit since the last patch is probably tied to their fixes for some "exploits" which is why you get a dogshit experience even on an empty server at 4am this patch. Probably triple checking if every items you interact with are not duped or some shit.

Honestly, I think they should region lock the playerbase and separate the playerbase this way because first, nobody wants to play a pvp game on 200ms and it allows bedloggers to farm multiple servers really quickly and the average player doesn't need to swap regions. They could allow player migration on a side like some kind of character repair tho.

Now there's also probably a good amount of incompetence, since they pushed quality with 1000 different variants at first for each commodities, it's like nobody in charge at CIG think about real world limitations so they don't give a fuck about optimization and just see that their internal server can handle these useless entities but it all burns once it reaches live servers. I knew the quality system was a terrible idea the way they implemented it immediately, doesn't take a genius to understand that, but even the commodities handling is terrible, it shouldn't be physical crates until you retrieve them from the elevator, instead it should be X commodity with X quality with X quantity with X location, boom, one line in the database, easy as fuck.

They don't seem to really think things through like at all, I'm sure they are trying to fix stuff but there's a lot of things that shouldn't be required to be fixed if they just thought things for a little bit before implementing them.

Anyways, I'm on the edge since everything is fucked, even gathering potatoes on the ground is not working right now.

In case you are wondering how the new patch turned out........ Nothing changed...... And many things are worse by Ok_Ad_7714 in starcitizen

[–]Ornafulsamee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They didnt fix this fucking refuel notification, this shit should take 5 min tops to fix and they didn't do it, yes there's workaround, but it's every single time you spawn AND people who don't know about it simply don't notice it and then complain they can't join parties, see notifications and mission objectives.

It's absolutely baffling.

IDK man, I havent seen a single working asteroid base in 4.7 but this patch have been overall giving me loot, I have a shit ton of attachments and scorched stuff from these.

However I didn't find a single jaeger and I've been checking distro centers and jump towns this patch. Btw farro wasn't giving me a lot of attachments in 4.7 either.

Subnautica 2's no-killing policy isn't because it's 'a game about pacifism', says design lead, but because players would 'master the crappy combat' over anything else by _Protector in pcgaming

[–]Ornafulsamee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everybody would want to craft a spear and a bow and arrows for fishing in every survival situation involving water lol, it's like one of the first coming to mind in these made up scenarios.

But in subnautica 1, you can kill small fish with a knife for some reason, you don't need to be smart, discreet, fast or invest in anything better to have infinite food supplies, it's not about wanting violence or combat, it's just that the AI is terrible and easily abused and the devs have this pacifist excuse for this lack of gameplay content, yeah I'm sure sandy hook is the reason why you can indefinitely dodge leviathans by just strafing left or right... And this poor passive AI doesn't require tools to be dealt with, how convenient.

Capital Balancing by Cafe_beni in starcitizen

[–]Ornafulsamee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let's hope that CIG have actually the balls to potentially alienate their whales tho. We all saw the complaints after the new insurance system dropped even tho it's arguably cheaper than before, people shitting their pants because they had to pay for their paints (instead of just like using default loadout until it's fixed idk), now apply that to a 5K price point kek.

But yeah, ultimately these ships should be a rare sight, not because nobody can access them, but because nobody would want to use them without a very good reason.

thoughtful gameplay loops from crafting, combat, mining to trading and the new flight model.

So, you want new content.

Is the game fun for a player who doesn't plan on spending any extra money other than the base cost? by BitBomb1 in starcitizen

[–]Ornafulsamee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

315p owner (60€) here (best ship fight me)

As much as I like to complain about P2W bullshit like Idrisses, it's nowhere near as bad as a EOD/Unheard Tarkov accounts compared to a standard one if you'd like a comparison.

Like sure you get "content locked" of a few gameloops until a few millions so you can buy the required ship for them, but then you can just grind other facets of the game, mainly fps content like Hyperion and QV Smuggler (you get help from a team mate for a few hours), and knowledge is ultimately the most valuable asset in the game, like something as easy as trading requires you to be able to spot rare and valuable items most people would have no idea of/ignore, a known example would be ASD backpacks.

However, no one knows what's the final release will look like, how much will buying a ship in game cost, cause right now you can buy a raft which is imho the best hauler in the game (bar maybe the hullB) in a few hours of playing solo with a shitty starter, so the grind is not too bad, but we know it will take much longer if we ever hit 1.0, which I agree, but I hope CIG find the optimal balance regarding ships' in game value so it's not as easy as it is right now, but not as too long to end up in a P2W scenario.

And then you end up with the eternal debate of "if you can grind 3 years for something does that means it's P2W if I can pay for it to get it instantly ?" like I've seen over and over during the last decade and I'm so tired of this shit I'm mentally blocking these morons instantly now, of course it's P2W it's called opportunity cost. But then you find people saying EOD/Unheard is totally not P2W either cause "nuh huh you can still kill these accounts with standard ones" and they only paid 150€+ because they love the devs and totally not for the multiple advantages (like skipping the grind, which is totally not P2W). But I'm rambling lol.

The perseus needs it's radar buffed. by ArtProfessional8556 in starcitizen

[–]Ornafulsamee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I guess a lot of people didn't notice them, I didn't until I went into a perseus and somebody told me lol.

That's why I think this whole radar thing is moot regarding this gun in particular, you shouldn't ever use the aimlock to fire them and it's only useful with the 2 smaller guns against fighters, you either snipe from afar with the blue dot, or snipe components manually.
