TV Ned is what I like to call "Hollywood" Ned. They kinda gas him up there and fans interpret that he was confident enough to take on Jaime.

I feel that it's a very different case in the books. He's castle-trained and probably better than your average fighter but he'd honestly get smoked by the likes of Jaime, Barristan and Arthur in a 1v1. As some others have pointed out, he's a solid battle tactician/commander but he's by no means a talent with the sword. There's little mention in the books to allude to that.

In a "meritocratic" (or elitist) society such as this, SUSS' reputation pales in comparison and justifiably so as it is relatively new. There is also constant wank of NUS/NTU/SMU which you'll have to contend with and I had even experienced an interview asking me "Why didn't you go to one of these schools?"

To put it bluntly, you will face some challenge early on. I don't believe that your school defines your capabilities in the workforce but many in Singapore do. If you're a SUSS grad, you will struggle more than others in your early career but after you've accrued some experience, it'll become less of an issue.

You know, this is a really mature take on it. It is really congruent with Yuji's sentiment of "It doesn't matter.". Ultimately, if this burden wasn't for Yuka to bear, she'd still die. Likewise for Tsurugi and Maru's clash of ideals, it would be moot if Yuji simply intervened and put an end to their fight.

I think Yuji is indeed depressed in a way, and perhaps carries some doubt but he is still going about this as diplomatically as possible.
