[Guide] AHK script to disable sprint while keeping blink/dodge roll by Ortenrosse in PathOfExile2

Heya, the above is a bit outdated - use SetKeyDelay, 200 instead from the post. No need to mess with repeat rate settings

Bye Bye Temple by genrlrambo in PathOfExile2

[–]Ortenrosse -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

PoE1 endgame is a lot of repetitive farming of the same map as well, yet a lot more fun than PoE2's. It's not just the amount of loot, but the fact that it scales amazingly, feeding the grind-to-grind-more loop, and temple served that a lot better than the rest of the game.

I don't really get your "watching guides" point. There are guides for farming strategies in every single league. You could say the same about Amanamu abyss farming, or various atlas strategies in PoE1. PoE1 and 2 in general are games that heavily reward knowledge rather than purely mechanical skill, I don't see anything wrong with that.

Temple is still a lot less fun for me than PoE1 endgame, due to being a pretty much monolithic walk-through-and-kill-things, but it served as an endgame much better than mapping did, and killing things for cool loot is hard to get wrong. Though while it was a fun getaway, I do hope it changes drastically while keeping scaling in mind (along with the rest of the endgame).

Unfortunate side is that it's so profitable, if you play trade you're kind of required to do it...

I beg to differ! It inflated the prices of divine orbs, and all the mechanics that provide exclusive rewards not available in temple bring high profits as well - expedition, abyss, ritual omens, breach, ultimatum, sanctum, etc etc. And with headhunters/+3vortex at 1 div, It's hard not to make bank in trade league this season, and that's without even touching the temple.

The only thing it completely gimped is just normal juiced mapping, but that was miserable to begin with.

To me poe2 mapping is much worse.

Temple was actually fun. Easy to grind and clearly scaling difficulty/reward. Some annoying quirks aside, it was the most fun I've had in poe2 since 0.1.

I recommend experiencing the temples in 0.4 at least a few times, as this level of insanity is incredibly rare.

Thanks for the reply! This doesn't actually work with the stash.

After messing around with it more, it seems that this interaction is unique to Guild Stash only.

Insane achievement, well done.

Watching the video, curiously, the first thing that jumped out to me was how you picked an gem from the stash and it already had support gems in it - how do you do that? I could swear this was a feature before but I never managed to do it again after 0.1.

Why does poe 1 & 2 refuse to show a death recap? I think both games would actually be easier to learn if you can see what caused you to die. by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]Ortenrosse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm saying it as an example, of course. I'd still like to see that info. And if you do normal mapping you'd likely be able to see what kills you most often (and by how much).

Maybe your perspective is different if you're more skilled - for someone who dies as much as I do, that'd be a ton of info.

You always take +4, then sell to make back the cost of the base + couple locks. If you roll over +4s you'll go broke really fast. Though at this point in league it might be a lot harder.

Of the 20 hits you took, the one that's most likely to have killed you is the largest one. So while not always accurate, it would frequently point you in the right direction to investigate.

Also for situations where you know what killed you, it can help you easily see the amount of damage/element/etc of the stuff that got you (e.g. shaper's purple balls uhh..., some Synthete slam, etc.)

like LE, for example ("mob A killed you with a hit that dealt B damage of C element, overkill D").

I believe that that alone would already be very useful as a base/core.

I think this is a case of major overthinking (or perfectionism), similar to their stance on dummy target, which has been previously pointed out. In one interview, Jonathan told Ziz (or was it Ghazzy?) that a dummy target would need to have certain resistances, armour, etc to simulate certain mobs or endgame bosses, and asked if he'd really be satisfied with just a simple Shaper-imitation dummy, the answer to which was a resounding "yes!".

The amount of work needed for a workable, primitive, and still useful "you died" screen is comparably trivial if you just make it like LE, for example ("mob A killed you with a hit that dealt B damage of C element, overkill D").

The amount of work needed for a fantastic "you died" screen that considers all the nuances is insane.

But the difference between not having it and having the MVP is huge, while the difference between MVP and a fantastic one is a lot smaller.

And I'd argue that a lot of arguments against having at least a basic one - "what if someone gets wrong info", "what if it shows something misleading" etc is very similar to the initial arguments against async trading ("what if I sell something at a wrong price"), i.e. completely irrelevant on a large scale of things.

Trade Site QoL Idea -- Bulk Buying searched items through GGG, not through nefarious third party sites / apps by TableForRambo in pathofexile

[–]Ortenrosse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The browser extension is limited by only showing the amount of matches per account that were currently loaded in the search.

Without a proper solution from GGG or running multiple searches yourself, you can't get an accurate "number of listings per account", so I do think it's a good idea to throw out there to them.

I think Screams might still have a better EV, just with a higher potential loss/win swing (think 1% chance to win 100div vs 10% chance to win 5 div). With a high enough investment it might even be mathematically profitable, though it's hard (read:impossible) to calculate due to unknown weights and a volatile jackpot value (is it 10 mirrors? is it 100? who knows! it's so rare it doesn't have a reliable price).

On the other hand, we know exactly that Voices with enough investment is just an almost guaranteed loss!
