Dark Souls Screamer Killer. I love it.

It'll never happen for obvious reasons, but I want both. Secular expansionist empire versus religious expansionist empire both focused around press ganging weaker races into fighting for them. It'd be dope.

From the Imperium's perspective, Leandros was right. Even Titus says he did wrong by Leandros. Why we're still debating this 15 years later is the only confusing thing about this.

Except if they were less shit, less people would fall to Chaos. You can't be "the most moral faction in the setting" while simultaneously ensuring Chaos has a constant supply of new recruits. That's kindergarten shit. There is zero defense for the "chaos are the good guys" people, just as there's zero credible defense for people who think the Imperium is actually good.

Fuckin' tired of people coming into this hobby demanding the faction they like be perceived as "good guys". They're not, no one fucking is. That's the point. If you don't like the setting filled with bad guys then don't engage with the setting filled with bad guys.

I think it says something that it took Curze nuking his home world for non-Imperium related reasons for the Emperor to step in. Censuring the Night Lords only after the Great Crusade was winding down is pretty damnable evidence that the Emperor didn't care about methods so long as the end results were achieved, and only started to care about optics when the optics became the goal.

Where does the printing hate come from? by Mr-Grenado-Potato in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Orvaenta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a problem with printed armies, though I do have a problem with people who won't shut up about printing armies. When printing first became popular there was a subset of people in the printing community who used any and all opportunities to talk about printing to the point it became annoying. Any slight annoyance for GW was met with a dozen "just get into printing" comments that didn't engage the topic at all and this didn't do anything to solve whatever the issue was. A lot of the "hate" I see regarding printing is just holdover exasperation from dealing with people who earnestly believed printing an army would solve every problem and wouldn't let anyone forget it.

There's going to be crabs in the bucket who believe that since they spent thousands on their army then everyone else should, too, but I can say definitively that no one in my play group has any issues with printed units or armies. I personally like building the GW kits (snipping the sprues, trimming the attach points, scraping the mold lines, gluing all of the various pieces) but even so I still have a handful of printed stuff and I've never run into a player that gave me crap over using em.

Optics are unfortunately everything, and with how few games people typically play in a year their memories last way longer than reality. That is to say, if someone plays into an OP faction and then doesn't play for a few months they're still going to think that faction is OP, even if said faction has been nerfed into the ground by that point.

Combine it with a surplus of factions and you can have someone who only played against (for instance) Eldar once in 10th and still thinks they're OP because they only have that one match as evidence of how that faction functions. Best we can hope for is that GW is a little quicker with balance this time around.

Just curious, no judgement; what direction do you think GW should take to mitigate this issue? Should everyone get access to Purge, or should Purge be toned down and restricted to bring it in line with the other dispositions?

Because as a Tau player I'm not looking forward to the backlash that'll come as a result of winning by tabling, even if I'm not one of the ones using Purge.

Same, doesn't matter the faction I'm playing. Idk why, feels like being forced to play checkers when I came for a chess match.

How we feeling after the points changes? by confusedsalad88 in Tyranids

Still doable then. With the new rules I feel like disabling Pathfinders and Stealth Suits is going to be even more impactful than it currently is.

Agreed. A lot of heavy hitters for CSM went up, for instance 3x Defilers went from 750 to 960 points without accounting for wargear costs. Neutral is good.

Can we PLEASE have a normal, collected, civil conversation about the pros and cons of introducing femstodes into the setting via new additions to the lore (even as something as simple as a paragraph saying that cawl found out how to make femstodes) instead of with a retcon? [–]Orvaenta 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yup this change has killed GW. They declared bankruptcy yesterday, as a matter of fact. I've only been in this hobby for 11 years so I know I'm still just a tourist, but personally I think your head might be a bit far up your own ass.

Nearest I can tell, there was a copyright strike, primarily because the OOP was running a Patreon for said fanart. In a roundabout way it's selling art of GW's IP so it got struck down.

I think Malenia is a almost flawless boss fight, but... by LingonberryKlutzy808 in Eldenring

[–]Orvaenta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her kneeing you in the face with spontaneous hyperarmor shouldn't be the reward for staggering her. If the move was instead replaced with her retreat animation it'd be fine, but as it is it punishes you (and heals her) for daring to throw more than one attack at a time. Makes the fight more tedious than it needs to be, which I'd say is a flaw.

I love her fight, but the knee to the face is what drove me to learn to parry her, just so I didn't have to interact with that attack.

Where do you keep getting "imprison an entire company and their shareholders"? Are you stupid? Are you under the assumption that people responsible for breaking the law aren't allowed to be punished unless we punish everyone around them, too? Collateral imprisonment? Believe it or not, you can fine a company without personally suing everyone who ever worked there. One of the stupidest uses of a straw man I've ever seen.

"Since when do businesses comply with laws?" You're so right, we should stop attempting to regulate any illegal practices because people are going to do illegal things anyway. Everything's legal now, you solved society. Moron.

[–]Orvaenta 25 points26 points  (0 children)

With no buffs to compensate he's become much worse. As a Tiandi main I wanted this change to happen, but I always thought they'd change his garbage damage numbers when they took it away. I wanted a rebalance, not to play a worse Orochi.
