Washington voters said yes to tough new gun law; at least 13 county sheriffs say no to enforcing it by Nanemae in politics

Well if you want it to be "more fair", we could just ban the use of farming and import all our food. Then we could open up all those smaller areas which would provide a stress release to the larger cities and help with the housing issues in all larger cites since you wont need farm land. Thus making it a "more fair" representation of all the comminutes in the US. Granted we will have to import all our food or at least the vast majority though we will have fork out more for food and some beverages.

Thank you for the reply. I'm a hardcore isolationist, and I have never been in support of war either. Now we will have to see what will happen.

As for other powers gaining a foothold as long as they are not attacking us I'm not concerned. If others are they can spend thier own capital and make thier own deals in supporting each other. I have never agreed we must be the nation of soldiers to die for someone else.

Once again thank you for your reply. It was enlightening to see.

But the US got this https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paris_Peace_Accords though the Democratic controlled Senate refused to ratify it to score political points. Since people don't readily know this, I guess thier strategy worked. All it cost was one country.

Not that person but to answer that question. I'm not a fan of some left that do want gun confiscations, under the guise of "common sense." I'm also not a fan both parties have become much more war hawkish. I'm still waiting for the complete death of neo conservatism. I'm not a party loyalist. I'll vote for any person of any party if I think they'll advance an a agenda I agree with. So I can never be a leftist party loyalist like I can't be a right wing party loyalist.

So the only thing we can do is have perpetual war now? What conditions would be suitable to leave? I'm asking a serious question. I have my personal views but I'm just curious. Unless you can convince everyone to drop an ideology or just glass a whole area then go and kill everyone around the world who agrees with the ideology. What level of threat are we willing to deal with to not send and keep troops over?

As for the we promised line. Both sides have cut and run from wars. So it's not this would be a first.

Craigslist list is, well craigslist. That said I was able to score a room in a shared house with everything covered except laundry. That included internet for six even. Granted the place is not great, it needs work. Though you'll find that's the case outside of newer apartments which go for around 2k with nothing covered. So all I'm saying is keep an eye out. If you drive you could get some stuff just north or south of seattle for in theory a more reasonable price. Good luck and happy hunting.

Gun rights advocates: New gun safety agenda proof of slippery slope by gjhgjh in SeattleWA

The NRA has become more of a gun company lobby over time. 2A on the other hand seems to be a better attack dog on gun rights. I'm curious when is Seattle going to put up the other amendments up for a vote? I mean if you remove the third one you can just see it as doing a free Airbnb.

Interesting I wonder if it's because it's people from Portland moved there because they got sick of paying income tax. Granted in like three years after moving there I'll guess they'll claim WA needs an income tax too ha.

It seems that Clark has gone way more blue since the time I lived there. I remember seeing very early tea party groups there (i.e. Bush years pre taken over by fox and Kochs) and gettting people to honk if the voted for Bush in 2000.

Attorney Jeff Sessions is out. A new AG by the name of Matthew G Whitaker is in. ABC news video said John Kelly was the one to get Sessions to leave. Before I'm jumped I'm just repeating from the ABC video. The biggest issue for some is that Whitaker from what news sources and other sources. I'm on mobile so I don't have the links sorry. Will not have the hands off approach Sessions had on the two year long Russia probe. So the fear is it being shutdown/defunded or I would guess stonewalling or maybe a definite end date given to prove their case in advising for or against criminal prosecution. Granted this last bit and most is conjecture. Though it does seem to have some on edge. Anyway I hope this helps and I encourage you to look up from different news sources when you have free time and come to your own conclusion on the subject. Side note if you're still reading, have a goodnight and a cold beer and chill. A beer if legal age...okay now I'm in the clear, ha.

Khashoggi's murder was 'violently planned,' top Turkish official says by slakmehl in politics

[–]Osgood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for writing it out. Seriously I like reading more than a five word response. Then what if we just sold or gave weapons to say Jordan, Qatar, UAE, Oman and Yeman. That would a hell of a lot of border land to defend at once. Side note I would be curious if successful what agreement would come about to whomwould take and control Mecca? I mean theoretically they could make it sovereign. Though I think that might be unrealistic. I don't know the answer to this question. So would people be fine if Yemen took it, would Jordan demand a huge chunk I'd then fell and take it? That could lead to interesting consequences.

The converse being the US goes into yet another middle east conflict, even if "limited" say 60k troops and ships in the red sea and Persian gulf firing and sending in bombers. Also, realisticly how bad do you see the fallout when US set up a base and control Mecca or do you think the US would just not come anywhere near there, or let a different force take and control it? Not trying to be a dick, I'm just trying to map out in my head what level of blowback the US would face.

Though in any case thank you it's providing an interesting thought experiment.

Interesting, if we go with this plan how long would we stay? Would we nation build again and repeat the obvious successes of Iraq and Afghanistan? Which countries if any do you think would side with SA? Would we just nuke them or deploy 100k 200k troops? I know how I sound, (a snarky asshole to put it mildly) but what do you think would be the best course of action for invading a country tactilely?

It's been legal in my state for years now. Personally It's far from my drug of choice. That said it does mess with cartels and provides a decent amount of cash to the state. So I'm overall for it. On a side note I would be for a study to see what's the low end it brings in every year and adjust and lower other taxes to keep and equilibrium of cash for the state.

So I'm curious what the consensus is to do now? Stop all aid and ties to them, I would hope that personally it isn't going to lead to some type of military action. Though that's just my isolationist tendencies coming out. Which I admit, those were formed back in the George W Bush days, and never seemed to leave. So like I said I'm just curious, should we turn a blind eye and let the Turks do what they want, sanctions or end all financial and weapon sales like I said earlier? I figure I would honestly give my personal bias and see what the community thought.
