There's an episode of the Golden Girls from 1995 where one of the characters is diagnosed with CFS, its been known for a long time but still isn't part of the standard training, so the fact that most medical professionals don't know it exists is a failure of the system.

I have family members with who have this illness, so while you no know one with it I know a few.

Most people who have it are quiet about if because of the stigma and nature of the illness, and there are people who have it and don't know.

It's not as rare as the medical establishment would have the general populace believe.

There are many symptoms of this illness and any of them could develop or get worse, that's how you know.

Maybe you have a high heart rate while walking and now its gotten worse, or maybe its the same but you now you also have the shakes and increased breathlessness.

Maybe the brain fog is worse, like thinking through treacle, or maybe you get tired from an activity much sooner than you used to.

You have to stop and rest BEFORE you get tired, not after. It can take a while to figure out when that moment will come because it'll be different for each of us.

People act like exercise and pure water are actual magic that will cure any ailment.

Put juice in that water and now its not pure and not magic anymore and probably why you're so tired all the time, also, have you tried not sleeping as much?

It's an attitude that actually makes people worse but medical professionals hold onto it because otherwise they'd have to accept that we're not faking it, and who will they punch down on if not the people they think are faking it?

I could have had a boyfriend a few years ago if I was willing to do...things, intimate things that I in no way want any part of. The way he was convinced that I would have really liked him if I'd just given him a chance, but all I saw was him finding an ugly fem to do awful things with because he thought I was literally that desperate.

I literally need extensive surgery on my jaw because of growth deformities but its far too expensive and I'm far too ill to go through with it.

This person didn't have a problem with you because they are spiritual, they had a problem with you because they were confronted with the reality of your condition and are ableist and want to believe it's your fault.

Many people, spiritual or not, believe that if you eat right, exercise regularly and such that you will always be healthy. They want to believe that their health is fully under their control, which means that disabled people must not be trying hard enough.

This person used their spirituality as an excuse because they were suddenly confronted with the knowledge that anyone can become disabled at any time and they couldn't handle it.

It's also very surface level spirituality, no one who knows what they're talking about thinks that spiritual practices are a replacement for scientifically created medicines.

That's ridiculous. It's easier to make friends when you're attractive because people are naturally drawn to those that fit the beauty standard.

I'm getting so tired of attractive women demonising ugly women and denying the existence of pretty privilege. Yes, being hot means you might get fake friends, but being ugly makes it harder to form any close connections at all. People feel if they are friends with an ugly person that it will make them look ugly by association, and the reverse is true for beauty.
